Chapter 1
Cammie walked into her new room. She couldn't believe that she had now graduated and would be going to work for the CIA. There was only one more thing to attend to before she started: her mum and Joe Solomon's wedding - which was tomorrow. She was looking forward to it – Macey had planned everything and it was perfect. Cammie just hoped no-one would be called out – especially Rachel or Joe.
Cammie had first met Joe when he was her Covert Operations teacher at the Gallagher Academy, of which her mum (Rachel Morgan) was headmistress.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Come in," Cammie said. The door opened and Joe walked in.
"Hey," he said. "I'm just off. I'm staying at your aunt's house tonight and she's coming here. I just thought I'd say goodnight."
"Oh, ok. Well… I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yeah, see ya," he said and waved as he walked out.
Cammie sighed, got a book out of one of the boxes and sat down to read. After a while, her mum called her down for tea. It was nothing special, just beans on toast. There was an awkward silence for about ten minutes until Cammie found something to say.
"Are you nervous Mum?"
"Nervous?" Rachel laughed. "No. Not when you've been through half the stuff we have. It just feels weird, marrying your dad's best friend."
Cammie got up and hugged her. "Dad would want it, wouldn't he?"
"Of course. Of course. You'd better get back to bed before Abby comes. Big day tomorrow and she doesn't want you up past your bedtime."
Cammie laughed. "I know." She got up and went through the door, then popped her head back round. "When's Macey getting here? And Bex and Liz?"
"Around ten I think."
"Ok. G'night."
"Night."
