David Xanatos smirked as he read the latest news on Tony Stark and the birth of his daughter.
His wife, Fox, entered his office holding their young son Alex. She raised an eyebrow as a knowing smile spread across her face. "Enjoying yourself, dear?"
It was no secret that both tech moguls had a friendly rivalry full of pranks and bets. Doing their little dance under the public eye (much to the delight of all media outlets).
"I heard they got married to keep some of the more tradition-minded investors happy. After all, the baby looks very healthy for being a little premature. Can you imagine how awkward It's going to be for Tony when his daughter gets older and she finds out how much of a playboy he used to be?"
Fox found her husband's delight in their neighbor's predicament amusing.
"It's a good thing you don't believe in karma, David," Fox replied with a wide grin. "Why's that, my dear?" "If you did, you would know you're also due for some cosmic retribution."
Mrs. Xanatos turned to leave the office. "Wave goodnight to daddy!" Alex giggled.
*Twenty Years Later.*
Castle Wyvern's atrium was decked out with banners made from flexible viewing screens. Images of monarch butterflies danced across them. Wooden folding chairs with a bit of a middle-ages theme filled the back of the room.
The groom's side boasted all manner of beings of myth and legend, with a sprinkling of created mutants and normal humans. The bride's side had heroes, born mutants, and humans (some secret agents of various agencies).
An old man with an eye patch shared an amused smile across the isle with a red beaked gargoyle who was clad in similar eyewear.
Some violins and a base began playing as the bride came dow the isle. She was young with red hair and an olive complexion. Her eyes met the groom with a sultry smile as she made her way to the altar.
The groom's jaw dropped and his blue eyes widened. His best man, a green web-winged gargoyle, grinned and nudged the red-bearded man, who quickly closed his mouth.
As the bride arrived, the preacher began.
David stared in shock at the proceedings. He still couldn't believe this was happening. His son had been engaged for a year, but this was still a bit much to take in. Tony seemed to be in a similar state as he looked forward numbly.
"Do you, Natasha Stark, take Alexander Xanatos to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The question floated back to David's ears as Fox took his hand. It was hard for anything to shock her husband like this. Before the wedding, she had Owen book a vacation for her stunned husband. Fox bet Pepper did the same for her man, who seemed to have been caught pulling a flask out of his tuxedo.
Pepper gave Tony a murderous glance that promised he would pay for it later. Tony shrugged in an "I'm in trouble anyway" manner and took a swig. He was given the flask as a gift upon the birth of his daughter. The engraving upon it read: "To Tony. For the man who truly has everything - D.X."
