"Niou-kun, tell me again, why are we sitting on the floor, in your room with our wrists handcuffed together?" Yagyuu's voice was steely and Niou shrunk from the older boy's piercing gaze.

"I told you, it was an accident, I swear! I was just trying to handcuff Akaya to his chair because he was being annoying but though you came along and he suddenly pulled you towards me and then you ended up being handcuffed instead and then—" Niou drew in a deep breath before continuing. He knew he was rambling but that was better than Yagyuu scolding him.

"—And then Akaya decided it would be funny if we were both handcuffed together and before I could stop him he—"

Yagyuu sighed. "Yes, I know. He clipped the other handcuff on to you and now we're chained together."

Niou nodded glumly.

"And the key is…?"

"They're somewhere in here." Niou twisted around to check in the drawer behind him and heard Yagyuu groan painfully. "I'm sorry, I forgot."

Yagyuu lifted his free hand up to massage his right temple, and then his left. How could he be stuck with someone stupid enough to carry around handcuffs without the keys? Furthermore, someone who found it possible to lose those very keys in their room? He felt a headache coming on.

Yagyuu heaved a sigh and tried to push his glasses up, but was stopped short by the excess weight attached to his left arm. Slowly sighing again, he raised his right arm up and pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.

"Yagyuu, you better stop sighing. If you look too serious, it'll start receding." Niou smirked at the bemused expression on the bespectacled boy's face. He inched closer until he was close enough to brush his lips against Yagyuu's briefly, before pulling back.

"W-what?"

Niou knew Yagyuu was asking more about the meaning behind the chaste kiss rather than his previous statement, but he purposely ignored that and tapped the older boy's forehead. "I'm talking about your hairline."

"Oh."

"Let's look for the keys later, Yagyuu. I'm kinda tired."

Yagyuu breathed in deeply, ready to sigh indignantly, but then stopped when he remembered the trickster's words.

"Okay, we'll look for the keys later."

Yagyuu waited until he could see the steady, controlled rise and fall of the other boy's chest, indicating that he was already asleep. He smiled softly, patting the Niou's hair before he gently nudged the boy's head towards him so that the younger boy's head was nestled in the crook of his neck and shoulder. He felt his chest tighten a little when Niou shifted and snuggled closer to him.

Yagyuu didn't mind staying like this a little longer, even If it meant that his movement was restrained. After all, he was quite comfortable and really, being next to Niou was the only place he wanted to be right now.
