Hey guys! This is my first fanfic. I was inspired by the Tumblr post about a department in the Ministry of Magic that deals with magical cover-ups. The story is basically The Office meets Harry Potter. With exceptions of the first two chapters, most of the story will be a series of one-shots. There will be recognizable characters, but most of them will be OC's. Below I have provided a "cast list" of what I imagine the characters would look like. You can either read it or ignore it, your choice.

Prologue

A dark-skinned man wearing a navy suit was walking down the street. He carried a briefcase and kept his hand in his overcoat's pocket. He stooped outside a building and entered. He entered a lift and exchanged pleasantries with a man who got off the floor before his. He exited the lift at his floor and walked past the reception desk. "Morning Miranda," he said as he past the desk.

"Good morning Mr. Davis," the receptionist replied. He kept walking to his cubical. The young woman at the cubical in front of his stopped typing and looked up as he appeared.

"Good morning Brad," she greeted cheerfully.

"Morning Susan. How was your weekend?" he asked while setting down his briefcase. Brad shrugged his overcoat off.

"Not too bad, how 'bout yours?" Susan replied.

"It was alright," he said, pulling out documents out of his briefcase. "Maya and Matt went to their grandparents for the weekend."

"That's good." Susan returned to her work. A few seconds later, a woman with long red hair briskly walked past, looking frantic. She dropped her stuff at the cubical behind Brad's.

"Morning Alex. What's the rush?" Susan asked. The woman replied while sorting her materials.

"Toby yelled at me twice last week for being late, and I don't want that to be repeated."

"Well, you're here early. What was going to make you late?" Alex finished sorting and faced Brad and Susan.

"You would not believe this! I got a letter this morning from one of Jenny's professors, saying that she skipped class and got herself detention. On top of that, Adam was fussing about how he didn't want to school, even though he only has to go to school during the day and his school is not a boarding school like Jenny's. Thankfully, my husband was able to take him to school." Alex finished her rant with a huff.

"I know what you mean," Brad spoke up, "Matt wants to stay home and play video games instead of going to school. I told him that his school for next year is a boarding school and he won't be able to bring his video games. That shut him up real quick." Brad put his briefcase under his desk and went to the breakroom to brew a cup of coffee. When he came back, the office steadily grew in attendance. He sat down at his desk and reached into his overcoat's pocket. He pulled out his wand and waved an incantation over his computer screen to unlock it.

"It's going to be a long week," he said with a sip of coffee after seeing his workload for the day.
