Sunny Day

It was a typical day on the famous street. Children were playing, cute furry monsters sang and a giant yellow bird was having a great time on his roller blades, as birds do. The cute little red monster followed the street's weekly thingy of teaching little kiddies stuff about life. Today they did colours, which the happy little monsters loved so much because they are all ever so colorful and pretty so they wished to present their magnificent blues, oranges, yellows and reds. It all started out well, "me blue!" the greedy blue monster said, "That same color as sky! But not same as COOKIES!" He then started eating a bunch of yummy cookies. Then the smallest cute silly little red monster stood up to the centre of their little color game. "I'm red! That same color as...umm…" Then the little red monster walked around to help him think about what was red, but had a nasty little tumble. Strange red water started spilling from the little red monster's knee.

"Oh what's this? This is red!" said the little red monster with excitement. "Ooooh! Let me see!" said the little purple man with pointy teeth. He got a small drop of this strange new water and gave it a taste. "It is delicious! MWAH HAH HAH!" then bit a bigger hole into the little red monsters throat and drank more. "Let me try some too!" "Leave some for me!" Soon enough, the little red monster was eaten all up. He had an annoying voice anyway, and besides, everyone was full and happy, except for the little purple man with sharp teeth, he looked different. "MORE!" he shouted. He leaped on a nearby girl who joined in on their fun little color game and bit her little face off and enjoyed another yummy snack, and another and another.

Soon enough there were no more kids and no more grownups. The little purple man with the sharp teeth was very fond of these people and he felt very very bad. So the sad purple man locked himself away for the rest of his days. The crazy old blue monster was very sad about this, so he went to the one thing that kept him happy. He ate cookies, tons and tons of cookies, day by day, year by year, the monster aged and got fatter and fatter until his frail old body could take no more. There were no people left alive now, just a few silly little monsters and a giant featherless bird hanging from his neck off a clothes line, he got very very sad because a friend went to sleep and he plucked all his feathers out and tied a string around his neck and tried to fly, silly bird. It was a nice business place for some bad people, they sold sugar and pretty little mushrooms and those pointy things the doctors put in us before letting us have a lollipop.

They used their bad toys that go bang on some of the sad little monsters as they fed off whatever animal they could find, sometimes the bad men would make their toys go bang on each other. There was a lot of that red water which the silly little monsters loved ever so much. The nice policemen came along one day and used their toys that go bang until all the bad men dropped down in their own red water. The streets were empty. There was nothing on this lovely street anymore, except in a certain trashcan. There was a grouchy green monster in this trashcan; he sat in his nice little home alone, smiling, which was weird because he was always grouchy when the other funny little monsters were around. All that could be heard in the streets were the faintest sound of laughter and a distorted little tune with some singing could be heard, you could make out a nice song which went, "Sunny Day, sweeping' the clouds away. On my way to where the air is sweet…"
