It had been about a week since they had to lock Mandarin away, everyone was still upset in their own ways. Gibson tried to ignore whatever sadness he felt by working in the lab. Nova's been destroying punching bags, extremely angry at the monster. Otto cried and ate away his feelings. Sparks was ticked off, the b##### hurt his family. Though, he was more worried about Antauri than the others. He hadn't seen the black monkey come out of his room since they sent Mandarin away. He walked down the hallway and towards Antauri's room, he stopped in front of the door and knocked. No answer. He got worried and opened the door.
"Antauri?"
The room was dark; the only light was coming from dim blue nightlight on the floor. Antauri was sitting in in the middle of the room, his back to the door. Sparks noticed his breathing was off, and he was shaking. He slowly stepped further, closing the door behind him. The red monkey shivered; it was a very creepy setting. He kneeled down and could hear strange noises coming from his black furred friend. He slowly reached out and put his hand on Antauri's shoulder, Antauri tensed up.
"Antauri?" Sparks asked, concern lacing his words.
Antauri turned around quickly and stared and his friend, his eyes and cheeks were stained with tears, he was holding Mandarin's helmet in his arms. Sparks eyes went wide at seeing Antauri so emotional. Antauri dropped the helmet and wrapped his arms around the red monkey, he buried his face into Sparks chest and cried. Sparks remained paralyzed, he wasn't used to this kind of emotion from Antauri. After a moment he wrapped his arms around his friend and comforted him.
"How could I have sent him away!?" Antauri cried.
"You had to." Sparks rocked back and forth slightly.
"My own brother!? The one who protected me with his life! And this is how I repay him!?" Antauri continued to cry.
"He….he's not the monkey you knew…not anymore." Sparks patted his back.
"My brother…." Antauri whimpered.
Antauri continued to cry and lean on the red monkey for what seemed like hours. He would say he felt better, but it's not that easy. But Sparks was there for him, and that was comforting.
I didnt mean for this to start out so creepy...
