Butterfly Still

You'll never catch that butterfly
They said but still you try
Frostbite on your fingertips
Still a smile graces your lips
What is it that becomes of snow?
Guess they thought you'd never know
Winter has never been so cold
Never felt so old
Watching you
As I always do
I wonder how it is you smile
How you stumbled every mile
How, after all you've been dealt
You still convince the snow to melt
You always bring the spring with you
It's so much more than I could do
A family, you've never known
And kindness to you is never shown
I had a family, once, long ago
The pain I feel I'll never show
Even as you stand there with a goofy grin
You can still let your sorrow flow from within
You do things that I could never do
I hate how much I want to be like you
You're such an idiot, always dead last
Still, I respect how you overcome your past
Who you are, you want them to realise
You want them to look you in the eyes
I'll always be here when you need me
My best friend, my worst enemy
If you ever realise, you know I'll lie
But I'll help you catch that butterfly

A/N: This is my first uploading onto and one of the first poems i have written in this format, this is also posted on along with my other poems. So this is basically Sasuke's POV whilst thinking about Naruto, things he'll never admit to his friend.

By the way the whole spring/snow metaphore was inspired by Fruits Basket and I believe that 'My best friend, my worst enemy' is a name of a song... but I'm not sure! And the entire thing was inspired by the first ending of Naruto, you remember the butterfly? Yes, well here the butterfly is a metaphore for Naruto's dream.
