Ah, I haven't uploaded anything for a while...And this will probably be the last Death Note fic I do, unless I get hooked on it again. Which probably will happen, but not for a bit.

Dear God, a humour fic? *gasp* I know I'm scared. I actually wrote this a while ago...It's pretty simple for something I wrote...Since Linda is a pretty ambiguous character, I made her nationality to suit the meaning from the word.

...You'll see.

Natasha's astonished face made Linda laugh and Matt snigger. "Are you really from Norway?"

"Yes," beamed Linda, patting her friend on the head. "What's so strange about that?"

"Well," Natasha began doubtfully, "does that mean you're a Viking?"

Matt had to hold onto the wall for support as he doubled over with laughter.

"No, silly girl," she smiled, holding back the giggle that was threatening to burst out of her mouth. "I'm just me."

The seven-year old frowned deeply, and then brightened. "Then are you a musician?"

Linda raised an eyebrow. Where was she getting these ideas from? "No, I'm an artist."

"They said that you were whimsical, but that means 'a Norwegian musician,' right?"

"Ah, but it also means crazy, strange and weird, which describes her exactly." Matt waggled a finger, eyes glinting with mischief as he finally found the strength to stand up on his own.

Casting him a suspicious glare, she knelt down in front of Natasha. "Who told you that?"

The girl blinked her blue eyes and shrugged. "They did."

"Who's 'they'?"

"Them."

Linda sighed, stood, and swiveled around to face the redhead who was nonchalantly edging towards the door. "Matt," she said accusingly.

He stared back, a picture of innocence, looking rightly affronted and hurt. "I never said a word! I'll swear it on my Gameboy."

Her eyes bored into him, glinting dangerously. "Okay, maybe not on my Gameboy," he admitted. "But I didn't tell her that."

"I'd think that Mello would say something like that and mean it, but I didn't think he'd have the subtlety to use the word 'whimsical.' And I know that he'd probably use something more offending that people normally wouldn't say when they're in front of little kids; that's never stopped him before." Linda pondered, not taking her eyes off Matt, who was still looking for a chance to escape.

Matt shrugged. "Well. Near might say something like it." He grinned his most languid grin and quickly slouched out of the room with a casual wave at the two left behind.

She looked indignantly at the back of his head and turned back to Natasha, who was looking thoroughly confused at this stage. "I'll tell you this much, Nat; never trust guys smarter than you. Especially if they wear goggles. Albinos aren't much better either, or guys who like to shout at things for no apparent reason."

With that, Linda swept out of the room, calling after Matt with a sickly fake and sweet voice.

Natasha stared after them, blinking as a series of crashes and yelps issued from outside.

Okay then! That was originally going to be part of a themes thing, but I wasn't bothered to finish it. So yeah. :D Reviews are good for my health.
