If he had one wish, it would be to forever protect the smiles of his beloved family. Never letting them get tainted from the dark world they lived in. He knew it was impossible for something as simple like that to come true, but he can't help but find it in him to stop wish. Begging to whatever being that is up there watching him, to grant his wish. He wasn't stupid, like they all thought he was at first. He means, he was called Dame-Tsuna for a reason, so they had to think he was stupid. Okay, maybe not stupid. But naive or sheltered. And he was...sheltered...that is. Naive? He didn't even know where babies came from until he accidentally walked in on his parents (Something, which he ask Spanner to make a memory eraser, which he use, but still kept the part where he knows that he walked in on them, but no details...Also the signs to know when to not walk in).
If there is someone he can talk to about anything he feels, it is his mother. Who he does go to for help. He told her. She cried and cried. Luckily, Reborn and the others are out. He begs her to not tell, which she promise to keep to herself. Tsuna's mother, Nana, was and is a very good actor. That he believes very much, which is why he knows that when the time comes, she will be there to help. He knows she is in pain, and though the children and away and he sleeps in his room. He can hear her crying like she was right next to him. It broke his heart.
Reborn and the others are back, his mother was acting her part as clueless and naive, sweet and loving, oblivious to anything. He welcomes them with open arms and a big smile. He could feel his mother holding back the tears. He ignores it. He listens to the children talk, his brothers and sisters complains, and most of all, he listens to their laugh. Though they did argue, as he heard his brother, Hayato, in all but blood (not that he cares), he loves them for their silly antics. He just keeps smiling, he could feel his mother looking down on the floor, her mind in chaos. He keeps smiling.
It was months later, when they have already moved to the Vongola mansion, his mother cooking with the other chiefs, much to their confusion. The whole family is going to be there for his birthday. He shakes his head at their excitement. And though it is kind of annoying and paperwork, he loves them so much. When the food came, he told everyone to stop and eat. He may be small and, as his family likes to call him for some odd reason, cute. They know better than to not listen when it came to their health. He know how hypocritical sounds, but whatever.
How dare he care for others health, but never his?! He knows that's what they're all thinking. It may sound bad, but not to him. It just shows that his family is mad that he is taking care of them and not himself. He has a wonderful family. He hates himself for doing this, but it is the only way. The maids, butlers, and other works were kicked out with the order of 'GO BE WITH YOUR FAMILY, you can come back tomorrow', much to their shock, but gratefulness.
"Minna, for my birthday, I want you to find a dark pink rose, it is outside. Do not come back without it!" They left. Only to come back with Nana by her son's side, who was sleeping.
The dark pink rose, a note tied to its stem. "I give you my gratitude and appreciation" -Tsuna.
