Once again, The Marauders were babysitting.
"Oh yeah Prongs, that sounds like the start of an epic adventure that does." Sirius said irritably, picking a three year old Dora Tonks up in the air, to avoid her being squashed by whatever that thing was Wormtail was driving around with the remote control in his hand.
James scowled. "You come up with something better then! It was your idea to write an adventure series, why am I the one writing it?"
Dora giggled, squirming out of Sirius' arms. "Because I am actually watching this maniac." He gestured to the small, orange haired girl, who had jumped onto Remus and was pulling his book out of his hands.
"Dora, please, don't break it…" he was begging, looking particularly frazzled.
"And Moony can do it currently because he is also being harassed by the devil child."
"She's not that bad, Pads…" Remus said. "Oh, Dora, no, don't do that… Okay, maybe she is… just a little… Dora no…"
Dora squealed happily as Remus caught her before she ran away with his book. "Please Dora, I was meant to read this before Christmas…"
"You could let Moony handle the devil and write something?" James suggested. Sirius just sighed, sitting next to him.
"Forget the adventure novel. It was a lame idea anyway." He watched Remus pulling his book off Dora, who was upside down, giggling uncontrollably. Finally she let go, announcing as he lowered her to the ground, "Moony is the cutest!"
Sirius snorted, letting his cousin chase after Wormtail's car. Remus sat next to him, looking distinctively unhappy.
"Cheer up Moony! The girls think you're cute!" James said, laughing. Remus scowled.
"I hate being cute. Everybody always wants to ruffle your hair and go 'awww…' I'm a teenage boy. Cute is not a good thing."
"Yes it is!" Dora climbed into his lap, yawning. "It's the bestest ever."
"Oh joy." Remus muttered, while the others laughed at him.
"Don't worry Moony, you've always got Dora! If things don't work out…"
James was in fits of laughter now.
"I'm going to kill you as soon as she's out of earshot, I hope you realise."
"Uh-huh. Don't forget your goodbye kiss though!"
