Hard Knocks Hard Lives
Once popular in the past
Now feeling the weight of the present
Placed heavily squared on their shoulders
It doesn't matter if you're an anthropomorphic dog or horse
Who acts so much like a human with human attributes
Doing what humans do every day both are intelligent beings in their time
Now everything is upside down and life was no longer good to them
Receiving nothing but self pity from friends and family
And the people around us despite our foul moods
And our constant depression as we take it out on the world
Then when they see the light and get a few moments in the spotlight
Something that they crave only to want something more
And before they know it's gone and you're left all alone again
Drowning your sorrows and loneliness in alcohol
