Chapter 2
It was Sunday morning. The silent house of the Harrison's {Genelia's family} awoke by a sudden scream or rather a bark of delight by their pet dog, Ray. Jake and Genelia were the first ones to go and see what this bark of delight was for. Followed by Veronica and the children's mom looking very puffy eyed.
'What's all this? What's up with this dog, Jake? Veronica said, angry to be woken up at 5 on a Sunday morning.
'I don't know why he is so enthusiastic at this hour. Well let's go and see.'
They went to Ray's kennel. The kennel was wonderfully decorated and made by Jake and his dad. Genelia thought about all the fun they had while making the kennel. Then to her uttermost delight she saw her dad stroking the dog's hair. Ray was licking his hand.
'Dad, Omg! You here. Do you have any idea how much I cried how much I missed you! How could you think I could live without you? Its, it's a delight to be with you dad" veronica said as she hugged her dad tightly.
'I also can't live without you all.' He said.
Genelia was waiting for what her mother would say. But a cutting remark by her mom had not come by, because she was also dumbfounded. So now it was Genelia's turn to go to her dad.
'Dad' Genelia said tears filling her eyes again.
'I love you and I and i…' with that she hugged her dad. She felt solace in his arms.
'I know how you feel. But I can't help it. Circumstances force me to leave you. But you can always come to me for anything you need.' His dad said eyeing her mom as if she was the culprit.
Basically Genelia thought that it was mom's fault. But there must have been something that made her do so. So she understood. Genelia became more mature after her parents' divorce.
Anyways, back to the story:
Jake had a few words to tell dad. Then they sat down on the garden chairs. Then it was time for mom's cutting remarks.
'Why are you here Zayn. It's over. Please go to your house'
'Please Vanessa. I can meet the children 2 days in a week. It's been 4 days since our divorce and you still tend to forget.
'4 days is not a big I time. You come to meet the children and they are reminded that their parents are divorced.
'Dad can come to meet us. You gave him divorce and you might as well allow him to meet us.'
'Fine then. I am bringing breakfast.'
'No need. I have brought it. Turkey with mayonnaise. You all will love it.' dad said happily.
'Wow dad I love this dish of yours. Thanks for bringing it.' Genelia and Jake said together.
'Yummy. It looks heavenly. I am going to gobble it up even if I wanna maintain my figure.' Veronica said who has always wanted to stay slim so that she can impress her crush, Sheldon.
After laying the plates, they started having it. Suddenly their father noticed their mom eating oats.
'What's up with you Vanessa? Not interested in having turkey.'
'I hate it.'
'Well it was your favorite dish wasn't it?'
'People's tastes change don't they? They sometimes get bored of old things. You know very well don't you?'
Suddenly their father got up.
'Children, I have had enough of this. Am leaving I will take you for swimming in the evening at the stars club at 6 pm. Bye.'
He left. Everybody stared angrily at their mother. Their mother quietly finished her oats. Got up and said
'Keep calm and do your homework or study. That is the way to handle your father. He doesn't have the courage to face the truth that is not my problem. He needs to realize his mistake.'
'What did he do?' Vanessa remarked after her mom went away.
"That I am gonna find out' Genelia said as she got up from the table.
