"Sookie breathed in deeply, her faded blue eyes somewhat unfocused. The lines on her face told the story of many years, smiles and tears. Eric sat beside her; his cool fingers stroked the wisps of white hair from her face. She observed the long youthful fingers as they caressed her face. In seventy three years his hands remained as they looked the day she first met him in Fangtasia. She had always loved his hands. Ah, the things they could do. Sookie took another deep breath.

" Eric, it's almost time. I can see Summerland. Claudine is waving at me." she said in the paper thin voice that comes with age. Eric leaned down and kissed her cheek leaving behind blood stained tears. "Fucking Fairies" he said. He lifted her and began the walk to the porch. She molded into his firm chest, breathing in the scent she had come to know so well.

Eric tapped the screen door open and proceeded to the porch swing. "Promise me one more time that you won't turn me Eric."

""My Lover, I have respected your wish for seventy three years. I will not break faith now.""

He kissed her hard and she relaxed leaning back against his shoulder. Pain distorted her face as each breath became harder. "You have been quite adequate." she said with a laugh in her voice. "And you have been a fine bullet sucker." he replied. "The dawn will be here soon."

He pushed the porch swing with his long legs. As the sun rose above the horizon Sookie took her final breath, he whispered in her ear "I'll be in Summerland shortly my Lover; we will have that breakfast together this day as you always wanted."
