Rosalie POV

I tapped my pencil against my desk absent-mindedly. There was literally nothing in this world as boring as history. My twin brother, Jasper, loved history. He would go to the library and spend hours on end just looking through history books.

Of course, that was before he got cancer.

Jasper had been healthy as a horse, as far as we all knew. He didn't smoke, he was muscular, but not too much—just enough so you knew he had muscles, and he exercised. So when the doctors told us he had cancer—leukemia of sorts—it was as huge a surprise as finding out the twin towers and been attacked terrorists.

Anyway, so today Jasper had decided to go into surgery, possibly remove the tumors and get better. It had been around 5 am when he had been admitted. It was nearing the end of the school day; I had about 20 minutes of school left. I felt my phone vibrate and I looked to see it was my mom.

"Hello?" I asked as quietly as I could.

I heard mom sniffling in the background and my dad answered me. "Hello Rosalie."

"Is everything okay?"

"Rosalie Hale! I'm sorry if you didn't realize this, but this is a history class, not a trip to the mall with your friends." Mrs. Anderson yelled at me. "Now I would appreciate if you did not answer your phone in my class." She held out her hand for my phone.

I inwardly sighed. "I'll talk to you after school dad." And hung up.

I handed her the phone and she glared at me. "You will see me after class."

After class I stayed in my seat and waited for Mrs. Anderson. Once everyone cleared out she gave me a long lecture about how I needed to respect her and it was rude to answer my phone in class and if I ever did it again I could join her in a month worth of afterschool detentions.

After that she handed me my phone with a last warning.

I took the phone and it lit up with 2 new messages.

Mom: Sweetie I'm so sorry, your brother didn't make it.

Dad: Rose, sweetheart, your brother isn't coming home with us.

Rosalie Hale: It's okay, I'm as dead as him.

Can anyone guess what I did then? My brother was the only one who knew everything about me. And without him I was nothing.

So I drove to La Push, and I jumped off the cliff.
