Summer Lovin

Lexi: Oh wow. It has been a while, hmmm? Yeah, I haven't updated anything in about 9 months. So, of course that means I'm gonna go on a one-shot writing spree. Feel free to inbox me any requests. But yeah, my job has kept me busy and I haven't had a whole lot of freetime...

This is just a cute little end-of-the-summer-happy-feeling fic. I thought of it about two minutes ago. This is probably gonna be word vomit. Oh well, I feel like Stephanie Meyer.

"Roy?" A young blonde asks softly over the sound of waves.

"Yeah, Ed?" He responds, looking over at the speaker.

Edward returns his look. "Do you... do you have to leave? I mean, your aunt and uncle let you stay here for three months already, what is a few more?" Roy gives him a regretful smile and reaches over to grasp his hand buried in the sand.

"Edward, you know as well as I, that isn't going to happen. Let's just be grateful for the time we've had and the rest of the night. I'm leaving in the morning to go back to New York and I won't be back until the winter holidays. I want to cherish our last memories." Roy squeezes his hand gently in reassurance.

"I know that... it just... I don't wanna think about it. I don't know if I can live without you, Roy. You've changed my life more than anyone else ever has!" Ed's previously depressed face turns desperate.

Roy hushes him quietly, "Shhh, Ed, it's gonna be alright. I do have a cell phone and email. It's not like I live in a different country. We can video chat, or message each other as much you want. I know it's not the same... but, I don't want this summer to end either." The waves in the background seem to get louder as their conversation continues.

Edward nods back at him slowly, "It won't be the same. But, it'll have to do. Can you promise me something though?" Roy hesitates.

"Anything, love."

"Promise not to forget. Promise not to forget this summer... And promise not to forget about me," Roy smiles lovingly, moving closer to his boyfriend.

He whispers in his ear, voice slightly louder than the ocean, "I promise to always love you."

They kiss more passionately than they ever had. And it was more than they ever will until 3 years later at their wedding.

Lexi: Damn. I'm a sucker for happy endings. But, just because I love depressing the hell out of you, here's three alternate last sentences:

1. And it was more than they ever will until Edward is on his death bed the next summer.

2. And it was the last kiss they would ever share.

3. And it would have to last them ten years until they met again.

Lexi: Depression time, over. Reviews would be lovely, my kittens. And if anyone is wondering: Yes, Locked in Love's sequel, Wrapped in Romance, will get its epilogue (and possible sequel in the near future, along with a complete re-write of both stories)

ALLONSY

XOXO
