Prologue- "A Funny Thing Happened on the way to China..."
"I honestly can't believe this…Usagi-chan, how did this all happen?" Ami said,
walking in small circles around the petite blonde. With her computer in hand, Ami
punched buttons furiously, trying to figure all this out. "Your internal physiology has
remained the same, it's just like you've used the Luna Pen, except…"
"Except what, Ami-chan?" Usagi said, her odangos bouncing. She really didn't like
this. Not at all. She hadn't expected things to turn out like this…'a quiet vacation,
just the two of us, Usa-ko' Mamoru had said. "Sure… just like when the giant panda
knocked us into those little ponds," Usagi thought, remembering how it happened.
"How do you go back to being Usagi?" Ami asked, her brow furrowing. This certainly
perplexed her. How on Earth could this be possible?
"I don't know! All I know is that I fell in the pond, and then when Luna pushed me in
the tub I went back to normal!"
Suddenly, Rei's ears perked up. "Did you just say something about a pond?"
"Yeah."
Rei thought for a moment. "Where did you and Mamoru go on vacation?"
"Somewhere in China. I'm not so sure myself…" Usagi said, getting concerned. It
was starting to rain out. Rain meant thunder. Thunder meant Usagi getting scared.
That wasn't a good thing.
"Do you think… Ami-chan, could the pond water have done this?" Makoto said,
coming out of her surprised silence. Rei had walked over to a book shelf, searching for
something. After filing through some of the more ancient texts, she came across what
she was looking for.
"Yes, Mako-chan. The water deffinately did this." Rei said, demonstrating by pouring
cold water over Usagi's head, instantly changing her into a little fluffy pink kitten.
"Mew! How can I ever fight like this?" Neko-Usa meowed, "Get me back to normal!"
"Certainly, Usagi," Rei said. She heated some water over the Sacred Fire and poured
it on Neko-Usa.
"Did it have to be so hot? That hurt!" Usagi complained.
This confused Ami even more. "Rei-chan, how did you know what to do?"
Tossing her hair back, Rei answered confidently, "From ancient family research. The
pond that Usagi fell into is one of the Cursed Springs of Jusenkyo."
