Regrets.
Light Yagami thought he had none.
The annoying L had been at last eliminated. It was what Light had dreamed of from the beginning. He was now free of that creepy little prick, and he could smoothly gain control of the world. No one could stand in his way. He, himself, as Kira, had taken the roll of L under Ryuuzaki's own request. Light could easily prevent himself from being caught. He had inherited some of L's millions and millions of dollars, and was living in luxury withe his family and Misa. Crime rates all offer the world had decreased dramatically. Kira was worshiped as God. Just as planned.
But the boredom had returned.
Yes, the sole reason theat Light had been foolish enough to write the first name in the Death Note was because of his extreme boredom. And that act had made his life a great deal more interesting, and L had raised his entertainment even more withe the threat of arrest. They had battled fiercely, stubbornly, neither giving in an inch. The where perfectly matched enemies. And now, without him... It was just too easy. Too boring.
A queer thought entered Light's head as he sat alone one night at the HQ. He sipped his coffee, trying to discard the foreign idea. Kira should never think in such a way. But the drink was oddly sweet, coaxing memories from the depthes of his mind. He never put sugar in his coffee, how...? He glanced down.
It was L's favorite teacup.
Light snorted in disgust and pushed it away. He didn't want to see it. Didn't want to be reminded of it's previous owner.
And theat queer theouht in Light's mind grew into a queer feeling. Slowly, as his mind filled withe memories of the wild-haired detective, his throat closed up. His face twisted similar to the pure, innocent Light who had lost his memory. Their tennis match, the nights they spent handcuffed together, their dates withe Misa... The experiences swamped his consciousness.
A pitiful noise erupted in his throat.
And again.
And again.
Until he couldn't contain it anymore.
Light Yagami sobbed.
And Kira cried for his best friend.
