INTENTION
When she had finally been able to get ahold of them again, GLaDOS had studied humans for many years, encouraging them without their knowledge, to experience an emotional bond to one another. Humans call it 'love'.
The AI studied, with confusion and frustration, how it developed and possible causes. She studied their brain and actions and the chemicals and hormones created when the bond happened.
Every time she thought she finally understood, another test would throw the last out the window.
After nearly a century of her side-study, she gave up on ever feeling the way she had when she managed to rescue Chell. It was a lost cause to begin with, to think she could regain the Euphoria of seeing Chell pull herself of the ground, thanks to the AI.
The human that had resided in her mind had been deleted, deleting her only chance of feeling something as 'human-only' as love. But the loneliness she felt without the human here –or even alive- was enough to be unbearable. She had no choice.
The last time she would have to live through that name, echoed through her chamber.
"Released test subject CHELL -last name redacted- deleted!"
"Goodbye."

I just wrote this drabble in class, while working on a few one-sentence stories. (Which I'll be posting soon, as well.) c: I love this pairing.
