Finally! Finally, he had done it! Laughing insanely, Bakura stared down at the mere mortals before him. He could feel his worthless Hikari cowering in their shared mind. Bakura stared down at himself. The Ring lay against his chest as it always had, however, it now had new mates. The Eye rested in his pocket. The Key hung around his neck, as well as the Puzzle. The Necklace clung to his wrist, while in one hand he held the Rod and in the other, the Scales. The 5,000-year old spirit had finally attained his goal. He could feel his mind escalating to a higher state of consciousness. The shadows in the air were tangible, raising his corporeal body above the ground. The shadows obeyed his will, to an entirely greater extent than they had before. Bakura could feel them acknowledging him as their rightful king. His old apparel morphed to something resembling what he wore in his past as the Theif King, and a shadowy circlet appeared upon his wild hair.

Yugi and his friends watched in horror and fear as the entire world took on a darker hue as the shadows leeched out of everything to gather around Bakura. The group mourned internally as their worst fear became reality.

The world would be shaped in His image. He decreed to would be so, and so it was.

The shadows only would answer to One, now.
