Collins cast a sidelong glance at Angel as they walked. Dressed in casual, comfortable 'boy clothes' for their nightly stroll, Angel still managed to look positively heavenly bathed in the hazy, amber glow of the streetlights.

He noticed that Angel had a hint of a smile on his face. Already gripping onto his hand, he gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Hey, what is it??" Collins prodded, feeling his own face breaking out into a grin.

Angel looked at him quickly. He blinked.

"What, baby?"

"You were smiling…."

"I was??" Angel's eyes widened. He was a horrible liar. Even in the twilight, Collins could see a soft red tinge his cheeks.

"An' now…you're blushing!" Collins cooed. It was too adorable.

"No I'm not…" Angel grinned even harder and downcast his eyes.

"Tell me what it is!"

Angel remained silent. He stared at the sidewalk.

"Oh, come on! You can tell me anything, Angelcake…especially if they are sexy, explicit thoughts concerning me…"

Angel's slender shoulders shook with laughter. "No, no…it's nothing like that!"

"Then what is it?"

Angel bit his bottom lip, hesitant and unsure.

"Well, it's the voices in my head. They make me laugh…"

The professor's eyes widened. He stopped walking and stared at Angel in horror…

Angel cracked up into a hysterical fit of laughter.

"I'm just kidding, honey!"

"Oh my God!" Collins heaved a huge sigh of relief, chuckling as he did so. "I was just gettin' ready to run!"

The two shared a moment of hearty laughter, drawing brief, curious glances from their fellow night owls.

"So," Collins wrapped his arms around Angel's waist and pulled him close. He leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead. "Can you really tell me why you were just randomly smiling?"

Angel grinned. "Well, I love going out for walks….but I love them even more with you. You just…you really are the perfect man, honey. When I'm with you, I just forget about all the crap going on…I don't think I've ever been this happy."

To his surprise, Collins could feel tears threatening to spill over.

"Really?" He choked out. This was all he could manage, his voice husky.

"Of course, baby!" Angel chirped.

Overwhelmed with emotion and unable to express his feelings vocally, Collins leaned in and kissed his Angel tenderly, yet passionately, on the lips. This caused Angel to jump slightly.

The Latino was only stunned temporarily, however. He soon kissed him back with equal emotion and care, never wanting this to end.
