Title: People and Places
Author: Spazoid
Summary: Hinata felt the safest when she was in certain places.
There were certain places, where Hyuuga Hinata just felt safe.
Well, that was a lie, really.
When she was in the Hyuuga compound, she rarely felt comfortable. She may have been working to be on better terms with her family, but she was the disgraced heir. House Members still looked at her with disdain, and Branch Members still regarded her with resentment. So she was a shadow there, never under anyone's gaze, uncomfortable even when she was alone.
But when Neji was there, it wasn't so bad. This was not to say Neji and her were best friends, far from it. They were working towards a middle ground though; Hinata tried to talk to him, and Neji tried to smile to her. He would even take time, now and then, to help her train. And when he corrected her now, it wasn't so belittling. He would follow her of his own volition. Neji made that place safe.
Kiba made places safer too. Brash, loud, and reckless, but one of the kindest people Hinata knew. He never judged, never turned her away, and above all, Kiba never doubted her. He encouraged her in everything she did and waited patiently no matter how many tries it took her to get it right. He opened his home and his family to her, adopting her into the Inuzuka household. Kiba taught her to see beyond, to see what love really is. Kiba made every place safe.
So, there really weren't certain places that made Hyuuga Hinata feel safe.
But there were certain people.
