She was always imaginative, people would always say "one day your going to get lost in that little world you've created". She payed them no mind for the fact of the matter was, if the world she lived in was one she created than she could never be lost. She thought herself invinsable in this world and she was until the day it all came crashing down around her.
This day began just like any other she got up got ready, and went to school. She had finished school and was then on her way home. She walked humming to herself thinking of all the wonderful things that she would do once she got back to her fantasy world. Her world that was sugar coated, sparkling and bright. She decided that she would take the long way home and walk through the woods, this would give her time to let her mind wander.
Her mother had warned her time and time again "the woods are dangerous and no place for a little girl", but what did she know. After all this was her world, she created it and nothing in it was bad. She had hardly noticed the eyes that were following her every move. A rabbit scampered out in front of her, she knelt down and reached out to it. It sniffed her hand, she giggled, she was about to pick it up when it got frightened and ran.
She held a sad expression for a moment then smiled "it probably had to get back to its mama". She nodded her head in agreement with herself. She was about to start on her way when she heard a deep voice. "My, my what a smart little girl you are" she turned around to see a black haired teenage boy.
She cast her brown eyes down towards the ground. "My mama said not to talk to strangers" she squeaked out. "Your mama is a smart woman" he smiled at her his eye full of mischief. "Hey, I've got an idea I'll tell you my name and you can tell me yours, that way we won't be strangers anymore" she looked up at him and nodded. "I guess that would be OK" she smiled at him. "My name is Sayu Yagami" she smiled proudly. He smirked "what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. She blushed lightly and laughed "thank you".
He smiled at her "I'm olny telling the truth". She smiled and then frowned "oh, how rude of me," she looked at him "I forgot to ask your name". He smiled "its alright," he winked at her "my name is Beyond Birthday". She giggled "your name is silly," she paused and blushed "but it suits you". He smiled and grabbed her hand. He kissed the back of it gently. She blushed, until she heard the bells in the church toll. "Oh no," she cried "its six o'clock I didn't realize how late it was mother must be worried sick".
She turned to leave, but he wouldn't let go of her hand. She looked at him in a confused way. He looked her in the eyes "promise me you'll come back here tomorrow" she frowned "I really must go". He kept hold of her hand "not until you promise me". She sighed "I promise" He smiled as he let go of her hand. "I'll see you tomorrow then, goodbye Sayu" He smiled. She smiled back and started to run home "goodbye Beyond" she yelled from half way down the path.
She ran all the way home whispering his name the whole time. Not knowing that her life was changed forever from the moment she said 'I promise'.
