Comfort in the Future
by SMYGO4EVA

In some ways it was easier for Yamagi to stay where he was, to stay in Tekkadan. Because in that way he knew that was where Shino had been happy, where he'd had his friends, and he had no reason to think anything was going to change.

Tekkadan was the place where he'd gotten to know Shino, even amidst all the chaos; yet it was also the place of perpetual conflict, where there seemed to be no end of turmoil. Yamagi stayed by Shino and the others, even when there was no hope of how he felt, how he truly felt, to be returned.

Even when Shino didn't feel the same way he felt about him, Yamagi still stayed. There was a comfort of being in his company, when the possibility of a better future was so close they could both grasp it. As he remembered how Shino fought for what he and for all of Tekkadan believed in, because of him, Yamagi was happy that he stayed.
