"She's here again." Tyler whispers as he peeks around the tree at the blue eyed blonde. Every day for the last couple weeks she has been coming here and when he first noticed her it was a pleasant surprise. No one has ventured this far in years and the thought of a new friend warmed him. But when he heard her soft cries he instantly hid behind the tree so he wouldn't be seen.
She would just stand in the same clearing every day and cry. Some times for a long, long time never saying a word. Once it was almost night time before she stopped. Tyler wondered why no one ever seem to come and look for her but he partly understood. No one came looking for him either. This place, deep in the woods, was the only place that he felt safe. Seems she feels the same.
"Maybe I could say hello today?" Tyler thinks as he keeps an eye on the girl from his usual distance. But just like every other day he silently kept hidden, despite wishing to talk to her.
She sat there crying only for a little while today. It seemed like each day's cry was taking less time than the days before and Tyler worried that she would soon stop coming all together. So as he watched her walk away he vowed that the next time he saw her he would talk to her.
Tyler sat up in the trees keeping a sharp eye out for the girl. "She's late." He thought nervously as he tried to push back his fears of her not showing. He sighed sadly and started to descend down the tree to the cold ground below.
When he reached the forest bed, a heavy breath was released behind him. He quickly turned around and was face to face with the girl he had been secretly watching over the last few weeks. Frozen, he opened his mouth to explain why he was there, but the words wouldn't come out, but it didn't seem to matter. She hadn't yet noticed him. In fact, she was just sitting there on the ground leaning up against a tree looking up at the sky.
Tyler looks up too and notices the snow that has started to fall around them. He smiles up at the falling snow before turning back to her. It pleases him to see she was also smiling. Then, like a diamond glints under a light, so did the single tear that rolled down her cheek as she closed her eyes. He quickly glances over her and could tell something wasn't right. When his eyes meet the darkening ground around her hands, he understood what she had just done.
He took a step toward her and was just about to try and shake her awake when a figure moving behind the tree she was propped against caught his eye and made him stop.
"Hello..." The girl said staring blankly at him and seemingly not noticing her own body.
Tyler looked down at the girl's lifeless body then back at her spirit. A painful smile forced its way on to his face as he realized the forest had claimed another soul. With a sniffle, he wipes the cold from nose and looks up at her with a warm smile. "Hello."
