Extra Credit Task: Write about what it would be like to wake up after 100 years

Awakening

It was a warm spring day when he awoke with a start.

He was supposed to be dead. He shouldn't be here, so the question was: how was he?

Fabian could remember with clarity the moment that the killing curse had been fired his way. He could recall ducking, the curse rebounding off the wall and hitting him square in the chest.

Fabian glanced around the oddly familiar room that he found himself in. It looked exactly the same as the apartment he had lived in during his Order days, except there was something different about it.

Where it was once so pristine that you could eat your meals off any surface, it was now completely covered with a thick layer of dust. If he had known any better he would have said that he was in Gideon's apartment.

The wizard was quite unnerved by the goings on. He would have thought that this was all some sort of prank if he wasn't so certain that he should be dead right now.

"Fabian, you're awake!" a familiar voice gasped, making him sit bolt right up in his bed.

"Molly?" he asked, flinging his legs ninety degrees and walking towards the voice. "What happened? Why is everything so-so different? Where's Gideon? Is he alive? Is he well?"

The wizard had so many questions to ask, and Molly Weasley had no idea how to answer any of them.

How could she tell her big brother that Gideon was dead? How could she possibly explain to him that he had been placed into a one hundred years sleep?

"Molly, when did you get so – so old? What sorcery is this?" he questioned backing away from the woman who had the voice of his sister and yet looked like their mother.

Fabian could hear the heart wrenching sobs of his sister. "Fab, I don't know what to say. You, you were – put into a hundred year sleep by Dolohov when he tried to kill you. I don't know how, I don't know why – all I know is that you're alive and I've missed you."

The wizard could see how emotional his sister was becoming, and closed the distance between them so that he could comfort her.

He didn't know why this had happened, or why. All he knew was that he had be blessed with a second chance and he intended to make the most of it.
