Losing someone was not easy and she could attest to that. It felt like your already broken heart, which was trying to mend, was being obliterated and you can't do anything about it but feel the pain. Not only did your heart break, a bit of your soul did as well. She would never wish this upon anyone. No one, no matter who they are, should feel this tremendous pain. People say it gets better but it never would. Or at least, that's how it felt.

They say the first time you lose someone, it's the hardest thing to deal with. But… Who believed that, right? The more times you experience that horrible, horrible feeling, it gets worse. You start to think what you could've done to prevent their death, where were you when they died, and more. She wished she had known this before the war started, maybe then she wouldn't be as broken as she is now.

The sky was as vibrant as he remembered. It was a lovely shade of blue. It was just as he always saw it to be. However… This blue was just a bit darker and there seemed to be a purple tint to it. This was not the sky… this was something that was finer than even the vast sky he'd come to love. He smiled and reached out. Hm. He felt something. That couldn't be possible, right? It was soft and it felt wet. He could feel his heart coming to a halt and knew that he only had moments before it eventually stopped. He tried to look around but he couldn't bring himself to stop looking at the sky he'd come to love.

This sky was familiar, but why couldn't he remember where this sky was located? Searching through his memories, he could see that he'd often seen this magnificent sky. In the background of his musings, he could swear he could hear sobbing.

Again. It seemed familiar.

Why can't I remember…?

" – don't' leave me."

He blinked and the lovely sky was gone. He could now see dark eyelashes and tan skin and water near the edge of the eyelashes.

Those are tears… She's crying… Is it for me…?

The frown left his face and he, in a moment of recklessness, caressed the face he was holding. He heard a faint gasp and the sky appeared again.

He heard her say his name. He smiled at her. He knew who this was now. It was his love.

"Don't cry, my love. Then I can't see your eyes… It's my favorite feature of yours…" He leaned up and pressed her lips against her. Moments later, his heart stopped beating. The smile on his face, never leaving.

The girl remained silent and if you listened close enough, you could hear the shattering of her heart. She gripped onto the man in her arms and inhaled his scent for the last time.

"You- you promised me." She trembled and tried to contain her sobs.

"It's time to leave." She whipped her head to the side and saw a comrade staring at her with pity. Oh, how she hated pity. "You have five minutes. I'm sorry for your loss. You have my condolences." He left swiftly and she was glad for it as she knew it was only seconds before the inevitable occurred.

It's okay to be weak.

She looked up the sky that her love always seemed to gaze at and she broke down for the first time since her beloved master died.
