It all start when the headmaster announce that the whole school is going to do a poetry reading on Halloween night. That he will pick five different people to read a poem. The people that will be reading will get there reading material later in the week.
Halloween arrives herald by a thunder storm. As night falls the storm rages on and seems to get stronger by the hour. As the student file into the Great hall, they fine the house tables moved along the walls and covered with food. In the center of the Great hall was a stage surrounded by sleeping bags of all colors.
"Come in children and grab a sleeping bag we will begin in just a moment." said the headmaster. After all the students were settled, the headmaster got on stage.
"Welcome all to hogwarts first poetry reading. I would like to start thing off with Hannah of Hufflepuff reading Annabel Lee by Edger Allen Poe. Then Draco of Slytherin is reading A Tall Tale Heart by Edger Allen Poe. Then we have Luna of Ravenclaw reading The Raven by Edger Allen Poe. Then we have Harry of Gryffindor reading A road Not Taken by Edger Allen Poe. And last we have Professor Snape reading City in the Sea by Edger Allen Poe. I ask that you give them respect and consideration. Also you were given a notebook. In this notebook you will write the name of each title and your thoughts on each one. Now I will turn the floor over to Hannah."
As Hannah steps on stage the lights around the Great hall starts to dim and the only light is now over the stage.
" Annabel Lee by Edger Allen Poe" said Hannah.
"[It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of ANNABEL LEE;- And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me. She was a child and I was a child, In this kingdom by the sea, But we loved with a love that was more than love- I and my Annabel Lee- With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me. And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud by night Chilling my Annabel Lee; So that her high-born kinsman came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulchre In this kingdom by the sea. The angels, not half so happy in Heaven, Went envying her and me:- Yes! that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of a cloud, chilling And killing my Annabel Lee. But our love it was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we- Of many far wiser than we- And neither the angels in Heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee:- For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride, In her sepulchre there by the sea- In her tomb by the side of the sea.] Thank you" Hannah walks off stage and Draco walks on.
