This story starts after episode 11 of season 2, so I'm picking up this from when Leo lied about Skye, Simmons went all emotional and I'm going to pretend all is well with the rest of the crew, because I can't handle anyone else being Hydra right now.

Italics are usually thoughts of the said characters.

Chapter 1: Reconcile

Skye looked at the shards of glass on the floor that were still stained in her blood.

What have I become? Why can't I control this?!

She glimpsed up at Fitz, dabbing her hand wound.

He will be leaving soon and I'll have to fix my way back into the group without making it obvious that I have these... powers. This will not be easy with Simmons hovering over me every two seconds, checking my health.

"I won't tell anyone." Fitz reassured her, "No-one needs to know. Not until everything- everything has calmed down. We need to get our heads clear before we- before they can process anymore changes."

Skye stayed silent, because she was thankful someone was there for her, and he already knew it. And most importantly, she knew he was right. Everyone had been through a lot. It wasn't just her, although that doesn't stop her from feeling guilty and... well, different.

She could see that he was trying to stay level-headed. Someone had to. Jemma had just indirectly stated that Skye should be put-down like a stray dog. Everyone was feeling guilt from these turn of events, but Skye and Simmons had been affected the most.

As he placed the last of the steri-strips on her hand, he stood up and gave her one last hug.

"You know where I am, try to stay calm - Oh and don't stick around Simmons for too long. I can tell she's already finding the DNA-results a bit... a bit..."

"Suspicious?" Skye offered, knowing this was probably the only non-scientific sentence she'd ever have a chance of finishing.

"Yes! ...or something like that. Be careful Skye. You know where to find me."

And without saying anymore, Fitz left her there to clear up the rest of the mess and pack her belongings before heading back to her base.

At least one person cares. She thought to herself as she gathered up her small eray possessions in a cardboard box and left the scientific department, making sure there wasn't any chance of bumping into Simmons. Beside finding out about the DNA, she was more scared of losing her closest friend. Thanks to this inherited condition she couldn't control, she could lose the only people that ever meant something to her. She never wanted this anyway, it was terrible!

I have no control over this. I couldn't stop Trip, I couldn't stop the debris falling in the temple, I couldn't stop the light from shattering. What else can't I control? When does this stop? Will I ever get to moderate these tremors? Who else's life am I endangering?! Maybe Fitz was right, maybe there is something wrong with me. Maybe Jemma should do experiments on me. I'm only going to cause more danger and I can't stop it!

Skye slumped on her bed and placed her box nearby, unpacking the minimal things she had. A framed photo of her and Fitzsimmons; a few spare T-shirts and jeans, along with her heart-rate tracker. She didn't dare put that back on to see her BPM now. It would be different. It would be inhuman.

There was a knock on the door.

Thank god. That'll be Fitz. I needed to thank him anyway. He needs me as much as I need him right now.

"Come in!" Skye sung, trying to act a little less distressed and more like her usual, human-self.

The door nudged ajar and then gained momentum. It wasn't Fitz who entered. It was May.

Yeah sorry, that was short. Just getting started.

I am planning on inputting her powers into the storyline and raising the stakes. Also there will be more May, Fitzsimmons and most of the other characters in it, but mainly the original cast.

You know the drill. Thanks for reading this segment!

P.S. I wrote this at 1am, if there's any narrative confusion, that will be why.
