Rapunzel giggled lightly. "I have something for you." She reached behind her, retrieving my satchel. "I should have given it to you before but… I was just scared. And the thing is, I'm not scared anymore. You know what I mean?" She looked nervous, but so endearingly eager, peering up at me through her eyelashes.

Reaching forward, I plucked the satchel from her hands and held it in my lap, staring at the faded brown leather. Looking up, I saw her eyes, those incredibly expressive emerald orbs. She was terrified. As I continued to look, I realised what was scaring her. Me. She was scared that now I had the satchel, I'd just up and leave her.

I smirked. As if I could do that now. Even if I wanted to, I doubt I'd be able.

Opening the bag, I pulled out the single remaining item inside. The beautiful tiara that had, indirectly, led me to her. Holding it up, I looked at her through the jewels, her face reflected in the dozens of gorgeous facets, her eyes still scared, but so… hopeful.

She flinched slightly as I leaned forward, closing her eyes. When the tiara touched her hair, they flew open, finding my face and locking me where I sat. "Eugene?" she asked, her voice filled with wonder and relief.

I smiled gently. I couldn't do anything but, not faced with those eyes. And with the delicate crown, she just looked… right. Complete. "Do you know why the people release all these lanterns?" I asked, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"It's… for the princess, right? The lost princess?"

"Yeah. That's why the King and Queen release the lanterns. They release them every year on the Princess's birthday, hoping she'll see them, and come home. But I think… the lanterns brought me my princess."

We looked at each other for what felt like days before she moved. My princess leant forward with almost painful slowness. Smiling, I moved forward to meet her.

A/N: Another happy one! Yeah, I don't know what's going on. But I just can't be mean to Rapunzel. Seriously, have you ever tried? It feels so bad.
