This is...not the new chapter of Watch it Burn. I'll get to it I promise. What this is is short and unashamedly fluffy and was written for a friend who was having a bad week.

All mistakes are mine and as always I do not own any of the characters, I just play with them for my own amusement.

"Enjoying the book, Doctor?"

The Doctor would later deny that he squeaked when he suddenly heard Rose's voice right next to his ear. He immediately slammed the book in question closed and put the cover face down.

"Of course, I enjoy all books! Reading, Rose, is the favored pastime of enlightened minds." He rubbed the back of his neck as she walked around the chair to face him. "Didn't hear you come in, been practicing your sneaking skills?"

"Always pays to be able to sneak," she shot back, tongue sneaking out between her teeth. "Plus I wanted to see what you've been coming into the library to read when you think I'm not paying attention. Whatcha hiding?"

"I am not hiding anything!"

Rose might have believed him if his voice hadn't risen an octave while he flushed pink.

"Come off it, Doctor, you so are."

She made a grab for the book but he was quicker, standing up and holding it out of her reach.

"Nosy, Rose Tyler!" He admonished, trying to reestablish control of this situation (not that he'd had any since Rose had walked into the room). "Maybe it's private."

"Thought you weren't hiding anything."

She pressed against him trying to reach the book and the Doctor's brain shorted out as he felt her move against him. His free hand gripped her hip, trying to hold her still.

"Doooctor," Rose pouted up at him.

There was no way to resist her he decided. He had spent too much time resisting but today was the day that ended. Rose Tyler's pout was potent.

He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, capturing that full lower lip that had been his downfall. He swiped his tongue over it and made another sound he would deny later when she opened her mouth, welcoming him in.

He sank into the kiss, gladly drowning in it. The Doctor wrapped his arms around Rose, wanting to eliminate any space between them.

He felt Rose pull away from him and was beginning to pout when she snatched the book out of his hand and scampered out of reach.

"Really, Doctor? Rereading Harry Potter again?" Her tongue-in-teeth grin was even more alluring now that the activity it promised had been experienced by him.

"It's well worth reading multiple times." He replied haughtily.

"Wouldn't know, you won't let me read the ones that haven't been released in my time yet."

The Doctor reached out and pulled her close. "I think I could be persuaded to change my mind."

The book was soon forgotten as their mouths met again and in each other they discovered a pastime more diverting than reading.
