For The Love of Muggle Gifts ByHPFangirl71
Pansy eyed the light blue box Harry had set on the kitchen table. It was an early birthday gift. She lifted the box cover warily, inside lay a watch, gold with diamonds surrounding the face. She smiled up at Harry.
"Its beautiful Harry, but I don't remember seeing this type of box at any of the jewelry stores in Diagon Alley…"
"Well, that's cause it's not from Diagon, it's from a muggle store called Tiffany's. Muggle women adore their jewelry."
Of course, a muggle store, even after a year of dating Potter, Pansy still couldn't get used to accepting gifts from muggle establishments. She just kept smiling and allowed Harry to place the watch upon her wrist. She pulled him into her embrace.
"Thank you Harry, This birthday is going to be amazing, I can already tell!" she purred into his ear as he nuzzled at her neck.
"For you it will be." he replied glumly. "I have to put up with having the bloody Malfoys as guests in my home!"
"Yes well I've put up with those awful redheaded Weasleys underfoot since we started dating. That hasn't been easy since you used to date the ugliest one of them all."
"Hey, I never dated Ron!" Harry winked mischievously at her. Pansy let out a laugh at his joke.
"Pansy, what on earth possessed you to start dating Potter, of all people?" Lucius Malfoy snarked at her.
"Be Nice Lucius." she whispered. It was Pansy's birthday and she didn't want it ruined by old prejudices.
"Yes, well… I always pictured you as my daughter-in-law."
"Draco killed that dream when he set his heart on Daphne's sister."
Pansy was completely over losing Draco to Astoria Greengrass. She had Harry now and truly wouldn't trade him for all the gold in Gringotts vaults. He treated her way better than Draco ever had. Malfoy had once had a habit of taking her for granted, shagging other girls on the side. They had only recently become friends once again. Since her parents' deaths in the war, the Malfoys were the only family Pansy really had. She hated disappointing them. Harry entered the room with a beautiful birthday cake. He set it aside though, clearing his throat as he pulled a small box out of his trousers. He opened it up, there sat a beautifully cut engagement ring.
"Pansy will you marry me?"
With all eyes on her, Pansy looked down at the watch on her wrist, realizing the many muggle trinkets she'd now have to accept by marrying this man. With a relegated sigh, she threw caution to the wind and leaped into Harry's arms, giving him the yes he'd been dreaming of. Harry handed her the tiny black box containing her engagement ring. Pansy was delightfully surprised to find a Mermaid logo upon its cover… alas, a present from Diagon Alley.
"I love you Harry" she said as she kissed him right there in front of everyone.
