First happy 150th Canada Day to Canada. Second this is my first fan fiction. Please review and tell me were to improve. Third enjoy! :D

Matthew woke up to sunlight streaming through his curtains. He yawned, stretching out and reached for his glasses. He grasped them and put them on his face. It was the day.

How long has it been? One hundred and fifty years? Yeah, one hundred and fifty years since he gained his independence from Britain. Matthew yawned again and stumbled out of bed. Making his way down the hallway to the bathroom to wash his face.

In the bathroom a ball of white fluff rested in the middle. Matthew lightly smiled, "Good morning Kumajiro". The bear blinked twice and looked up at him. " Good morning Canada, happy Canada Day". Matthew grinned, he remembered today. (1)

*Time skip brought to you by pancakes drenched in maple syrup and polar bears*

Despite it being his national holiday/birthday, Matthew had a regular day. He wasn't surprised, the rest of the nations had their countries to look after than wish him happy birthday...or independence day. It was nice that France had called to wish him a happy birthday. Gushing about how big he had grown and he couldn't believe it had been one hundred and fifty years since he gained his independence. (2)

Matthew sighed to himself as he walked back to his home. He had been walking around watching his people celebrate his birthday. Seeing families gather and enjoy the day filled Matthew's heart with joy. He walked up the porch steps to his house and opened the door. Ready to go upstairs, perform his night routine, and fall asleep.

"SURPRISE"!!!

Matthew gasped in shock, it looks like a few countries had remembered what today was. His living room was packed with what looked like all of the British colonies. His brother Alfred ran up and pulled him into a bear hug.

" Happy birthday bro"! Matthew returned the hug grinning broadly. " You guys remembered ". He whispered, smiling at England, France, Seychelles, Sealand, India, New Zealand, and Australia.

" Why would we forget today"? England asked hugging him. " One hundred and fifty years ago you gained independence from the British Empire". France then looked at America and lightly smirked. "And you matured better than your brother".

With those words being said it lead to a chaotic but enjoyable party. Ending with World War III, with a major food fight. Matthew grinned today was the best Canada Day he had celebrated.

Sorry if that was corny. Like I said, this is my first fan fiction.1- I personally think that Kumajiro remembers Canada's name and birthday.2- I also think France gushes about how grown up Canada is on his birthday. Please review and tell me what I need to improve with my writing! And happy Canada Day! :3
