Chapter 1

THE PORTAL

Somewhere in the multiverse, in between dimensions, a bubble of near infinite whitespace floats on by. This is called the Inkscape. Inside the Inkscape, two beings sat playing cards. The weren't human, but rather seemed to be cartoons. One is white, and their head floats not attached to their body. They have a tail with a paintbrush attached to the end. Their eyes, pied and rainbow. His name is Paint, the younger of the two. The other, and older was black. He resembles a wolf, with a flat face and top hat. The one thing that the two had in common (besides being Toons) was that they both had small purple and blue pins in the spiraling shape of a portal.

"Mask, you're too good at this!" Paint exclaims, throwing his hand of cards down. Mask snickers, knowing this is true. "Well, any way to pass the time right?" The toon said, almost begrudgingly. Paint nods in agreement, though seemingly pondering something. "What are we waiting for? I mean, this is all there is. We gotta find something... new!" He exclaimed to his older brother, seemingly deep in thought. "I... don't know. Perhaps we could..." he cuts off, looking behind Paint. At that moment, the Inkscape's position seemed to align with the dimensional coordinates of another Au.

"What's that behind you!?" He exclaims excitedly. Paint turns, seeing a large oval. It was blue in the middle, with spiraling arms on the sides. The object resembles his pin. Paint's rainbow eyes gleam with curiosity as he stands, walking to the thing. "I have no idea... I'm gonna touch it!" He looks at the thing, his childish mind thinking that is a good idea. "Paint no-" he cuts off, as his brother touches the portal, his hand going into it as is reacts almost like water. He takes his hand back as the portal reacts.

"What is it?" Mask again asked his younger brother. "I don't know..." Paint replied, and touched the portal again. He stuck a finger into it, then his hand, and his arm. "I'm gonna look at the other side" Paint remarked to his older brother. "Be careful Paint, we don't know what that is" Mask warns. Paint nods, and sticks his head through. "Wow!!" Paint exclaimed from the other side of the portal. What he saw what nothing short of amazing, at least to him.
