Chapter 1: Too Carefree
On Capital Planet, we see an open grassy terrain that appeared peaceful even in the nighttime, the full moon glowing so beautifully over the open hills.
One person was going through a midnight stroll, a person who was a 20-year-old girl named Rosela who wore a long pink T-shirt, denim shorts and white tennis shoes.
She happily walked on top of a hill where she looked up at the full moon that made her dark green eyes light up, her long red hair blowing in the wind to her joyment as she smiled with her eyes closed.
She would walk here at night a lot to get her nightly exercise and stargaze as much as she wanted.
She looked over her shoulder to see her two-story square white house that was several feet away from her. Beyond her house was the town that looked so small in the distance.
The city looked beautiful with the lights on at night, but she never spent any time there. She would only go there on errands and nothing else because the city was too crowded for her liking. That was why she lived in that white house outside of town on her own.
Despite being alone so much, she did feel carefree. She hardly ever had any serious problems and she ususally thought to herself that this was the life, being out here with no one around to bother her and having the hills all to herself.
However, tonight was going to be different. If she had thought she was never going to have any problems in her life, she was going to find out how dead wrong she was.
When she was busy enjoying the breeze, her eye caught something crawling out of the forest down the hill from her. She narrowed her eyes as she tried to make out who was down there. Thankfully, the light from the full moon helped her see it was...a robot?
"What in the world is a robot doing here?" she asked herself.
She saw that it wasn't just any robot. It was a robot chef, the kind she would see at restaurants in town.
She was completely confused about all of this, but she was mostly concerned when she saw his neck sparking which meant he was damaged, and he had to be if he was crawling.
Rosela carefully walked down the hill, then she ran to the poor robot who looked at the ground, his neck where his power pack was still sparking. When she got a closer look at him, she saw he was a robot with a french chef's toque.
"Excuse me?" she spoke.
He gasped and covered his head for protection. "Mercy! Please!"
Rosela was surprised by his volume, as if he was cornered by an assassin.
"No, it's all right. I won't hurt you," she reassured quickly.
He peeked to see the girl looking over him, his blue metal face having a small little metal mustache.
"Oh, mademoiselle," he pleaded with a French-accent, holding her left hand. "Please, help me! That evil monstrosity stole me from the restaurant and tried to take me to his lair. I made him drop me and I landed here. Please, help me!"
Rosela was shocked to hear him say an evil monstrosity had abducted him.
"Please, I'm losing my energy by the second," he implored, touching his neck where she could see two tiny holes, making her wonder if he got damaged by that fall.
She knew now was not a time for asking questions, for she had to aid this poor wounded bot.
"I got you. I'll call for help right away," she promised as she pulled out her violet cell phone and started to dial 911 but before she knew it, a shadow from the forest whooshed in front of her, then she saw that the robot chef had disappeared.
Then her blood curdled when she heard the bot screaming and begging for mercy which came from the forest. Rosela was scared out of her mind, and she felt helpless as she wondered what in the world she should do.
If she called for help, it would've been too late but she couldn't stop whatever that monstrosity was by herself.
Knowing fighting that monster would've been foolish, she had no choice but to run and get help. She just prayed it wasn't too late to stop that horrid thing, whatever it was.
However, as she was running away, two glowing red eyes in the forest watched her go.
Rosela was far from being homefree when she felt herself being picked off of the ground by two cold hands touching her waist, lifting her feet inches from the grass.
Rosela was even more terrified. She knew it had to be that monstrosity the robot chef was talking about and this thing was probably going to kill her because she was a witness.
She felt something wrapping her arms that were pinned to her sides, making her look to see it was...a silver metal arm. She glanced to see that this thing had a long dark cape, then an ice-cold hand cupped her chin that forced her to look at the very thing the robot chef feared.
Rosela's eyes were wide when she saw such horrifying demonic crimson eyes with a monocle on its left eye, its triangular silver face gleaming in the moonlight along with the sharp claws that held her chin. What scared her even more was the evil smirk on his metal faceplate as he stared at her.
"And why are you in such a hurry?" he queried with a British-accent, though he knew the answer as he tilted her chin higher. "I hope you weren't trying to tell the town about that helpless robot you had seen."
"What in the world is this thing?!" "Who are you? And what have you done to that robot?"
"If you must know, I am Nos-4-A2, an unrecognized powerful robot you might say. As for that robot you saw... Well, when I came to the restaurant where I met him, I ordered something that wasn't on the menu and ordered it to go against his will," he explained evilly as his forked-tongue licked his lips.
"Wait, he wanted to eat something?" "How can a robot eat anything?"
"Well, most robots don't eat like you do, but a robot like me eats something that other robots have: energy."
Rosela immediately remembered the robot chef saying his energy was going down...
"Those holes in his neck! They were...bite marks!" "You...feasted on his energy?"
"Yes, it was a life-or-death situation," he insisted with a calm grin. "Energy is what helps me function."
"Then what happened to that robot?"
"I would tell you...but you wouldn't be very happy."
Rosela's blood felt cold as her face became pale when she had a horrible realization.
"He...he killed him."
"It was nothing personal against him, really. I simply needed to eat. Isn't that part of his programming, to feed those who are starving? I must say, he did have a very good taste. So, my compliments to the chef," he smiled wickedly, his left hand on his chest.
"He is a monstrosity!"
The thought of this mechanical beast eating that helpless robot chef and of what he was going to do to her was too much for her, so she lost consciousness and went limp in his hold, her head hanging to his surprise.
He lifted her chin again to see she was out-cold, making him grin as he slowly stroked her right cheek and even though she wasn't awake, she shivered from his cold, cold hand.
"I get the feeling I didn't make a good impression," he joked. "So...what to do?" he asked himself as he pointed her face at his. "She is a witness and the best thing to do is to do away with her..."
However, the longer he stared at her, the more he liked how she looked, with the moonlight making her skin glow and the wind blowing her ruby hair.
His face softened a little as he held a strand of her hair, never taking his optics off her.
"...For an organic, she is lovely," he murmured.
He thought hard about this. Now would've been a good time to dispose of her as long as she was unconscious and helpless...but he just didn't feel like destroying this fair girl.
"So...if I can't bring myself to kill her..." he thought, trying to think of an idea.
Then he smiled when he got it, looking frightening when he looked at her.
He carefully stroked his left claw on her right cheek, making sure not to pierce her white skin as he said with lust, "Then I'll just have to make you mine. Yes...I'm sure you'd make a lovely companion for me."
With his mind made up, he held her bridal style, her arms and head dangling. He spread his glowing red holographic bat-like wings before going upwards into the night with the girl who was currently unaware that she had lost the freedom she had always cherished.
