So, I was kinda struck by Ghost's death, and i wanted to give him second chance in the Call of Duty universe. Of course, I do not own CoD.

"Loose Ends",

'Ghost'

Ghost tried his best to provide covering fire for Roach, but Ultranationalists were too numerous to resist for much longer. "Roach! Fall back! The chopper's here! ROACH!", he shouted at his comrade, and Roach finally came to him. But as soon as he started running to the helicopter, he was hit by a bullet, and Roach fell. "Goddamit!", Ghost said, and lifted Roach on his feet. "Just fifteen yards. C'mon, Roach!", Ghost motivated him, as the chopper smoothly landed.

Through its body came Gen. Shepard himself, jumped out on the yellowish ground, and helped Roach. "Do you have the Intel?", Shepard asked over the noise of his men clearing out the Ultranationalists. Roach reached under his vest, and took out a moddem-like device with an antenna, saying: "Y-yes, sir." Shepard immediately took it from him, and gave it to a waiting soldier. As Ghost and Roach smiled at each other, Shepard reached behind his back, and took out a Magnum, its steel barrel shining in the sun. Ghost only had time to lock his rifle before Shepard fired only one shot in Roach's stomach. "NOOO!", Ghost yelled in despair, and lifted his rifle, but Shepard just shot him, without even aiming. Ghost felt a fiery piercing pain on his rib cage, and he fell back on the frozen ground. Shepard didn't give him another look as he called four men. Ghost blacked out for a moment, and when he was awake, he saw that two men are dumping him in some hole. When he fell, he let out a quiet cry of pain. Hey, at least I didn't die on a toilet, he thought cynically. But then he saw a man carrying a large gasoline canister. The man grinned evily as he poured colourless liquid on Roach, soaking his uniform and vest. And Shepard was lifting his lighter. Ooooh shit, Ghost wanted to shout out. Barely, he heard Price over his communication link. Price shouted frantically: "Roach! Ghost! Do not trust Shepard! I repeat, do not trust..."

After lighting a cigarette, Shepard threw it on Roach, setting him aflame. Nooooo!, Ghost's mind was screaming as golden flames engulfed his comrade. With his incredibly weak arm, he carefully pushed himself away from the fire. Four men stood at the edge of the pit, waiting for them to die. Great! Hostiles, fire and a Magnum wound, Ghost thought ironically. Blood trickled out of his wound, and he did a quick self-examination. Spleen. So unimportant organ, and he'll die because of it. He let himself slide into a dream, a dream he thought was his last.

I hope you liked the beginning! Review, fav, follow; update probably on Sunday, 8th March
