The Fire and Earth,
The Water and Wind,
These houses, four of five,
Whose gloves give power,
In their hour of need.
A fight between these houses four,
The fifth shall appear,
Completing the star,
Causing the worlds to collide,
To create them anew.
It was a hot, quiet day, even through the drills that were currently taking place on the parade grounds, were at top volume, but they echoed hollowly over the rest of the base.
"What a lazy day this has been." Fury observed, breaking the monotonous silence that had fallen over the office.
Havoc was drooling on his desk, eyes half open, pen over a non-existent piece of paper. Breda had his round face in a box of melting donuts, sleeping on his feet at the snack counter, A.K.A. Breda's desk. Falman was attempting and miserably failing to do paperwork, his body erect in what would have been a busied working sit had he not fallen asleep.
Lt. Hawkeye was the only one in motion, and a very sluggish motion at that. Her eyes drooping as she attempted to keep awake and do her paperwork, more than anyone else was doing. Colonel Mustang's unpached eye staring out of the window behind his desk glazed over with disconcern, hand on his mouth, leaning back in his chair.
Major Armstrong was out, but those who knew him at all saw that he had less energy that he normally had, not ripping off his shirt every time someone asked him a question. All in all it was a hot energy sapping day, and it wasn't even the afternoon.
As the bell for lunch rang, Mustang jumped from his chair and landed on his back on the floor. His eyes were wide open in alarm, ears pricked as if he noticed just something. Everyone in the office looked at him and laughed drowsily, even Hawkeye chuckled at their colonel on the floor. Mustang quickly got to his feet and looked intently out of the window behind his desk, watching, waiting. At this everyone stopped laughing and came up behind him.
"What is it colonel?" Havoc asked, as he hastily wiped the drool from his chin.
"I'm not sure, something, I feel something." Replied the colonel quietly, but everyone heard him.
"You okay colonel? Perhaps you shou-"
"I feel perfectly fine Fury, thanks for asking, but don't."
"Just wond-" Fury attempted defensively but was stopped again by Hawkeye, who had suddenly tensed up, eyes wide open, looking out the window, the same as the Colonel, watching and waiting.
"Okay, this is getting weirder and weirder." Commented Breda, holding an oily cloth with the remnants of the donuts on it.
"Do you feel it?" Mustang inquired looking around at her, tense and alert.
"Yes, I feel … something." Replied Hawkeye, eyes still on the window.
Suddenly she gasped, and pointed out the window. Everyone turned and saw what she did, a bright light. It hovered high above them, with a pulse five beams came from the center of the light. One went north, another went east, and one went west, two more went southwest and southeast. With another pulse the light disappeared, everything became still again, as if nothing had happened.
"Okay, what the hell was that?" Asked Havoc in awe, sounding a little stunned. Then looking at Mustang, "And how did you know about it?"
"I have no clue." Mustang replied, "I have no clue."
