Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, actually, I own nothing. Except maybe a sparkly set of gel pens and some doodles. Because sparkly is good, and doodles are good, and sparkly doodles are also good.

A/N: Ok, I'm actually not that proud of this one. I wrote it pretty late a few nights ago when I was really tired, but I thought what the heck, why not post it. So, here it is.

Meeting Malfoy

A Harry Potter fanfiction

by Katherine

Albus Potter trailed along the corridor after his cousin Rose Weasley, green eyes blinking owlishly. He ran a hand through the unruly mop of black hair on his head wishing for the millionth time it was red and controllable like his siblings and cousins.

Rose was peeking into each compartment as they went along, and just as Al was about to ask what she was doing, she opened the door and slid in. Al quickly followed her into the nearly empty space.

The only other person in it was a pale skinned boy with white-blond hair, a pointed chin, and icy grey eyes. Perhaps the only part of his face that seemed alive were his cheeks that were tinted the palest shade of pink.

"Hello, I'm Rose Weasley." Rose said importantly thrusting forth a hand. "This is my cousin Albus Potter."

The boy took it. "Scorpius Malfoy."

Al looked at him apprehensivly and tugged on Rose's sleeve. "Rose," he whispered urgently. "Isn't this who you're dad said to stay away from?"

She rolled her eyes and tossed her hand flippantly. "Whatever AL. I'm just curious."
:"Well..."

But before he could finish, Rose cut him off. "So, what's your favorite Quidditch team?"

Scorpius shrugged. "The Cannons."

Rose nodded to Al as if to say; 'There you go. He can't be too bad.'

"I like the Harpies myself." She now said to Scorpius. "But I can't tell my dad that 'cause he won't listen to anyone who doesn't support the Cannons."

"Oh, what about you..." Scorpius trailed off, and then seemed to remember his name. "Albus?"

"Yeah, it's Albus. I don't know. I like the Tornados, but my mum was a Harpie for a bit, and Uncle Ron loves the Cannons. 'Course Rosie likes the Harpies..."

By the time they arrived at the Hogsmead station, the three were close friends, and Al had to give into the fact that once again, Rose had been right.

A few days later, Al wrote a letter home. He had finally adjusted, and got along with everyone in his hose well.

Dear Mum and Dad,

I got into Gryffindor like expected. Rosie too, but she said the hat wanted to put her in Ravenclaw. I like everyone in my dorm lots, we're all friends. But you would never guess who my very best friend is! (Beside Rosie of course!)

It's Scorpius Malfoy. He's in Slytherin, but we sat with him on the train ride in, and we hang out outside of class ALL the time. He's quite unny and nice to be with, though a bit stuck-up and proper.

He and Rose constantly compete for the best grade or the best job well done. And in all other aspects of life too. It's hilarious actually.

James and everyone else seemed to dislike Scorpius at first, but no I believe they like him much better.

Meeting Scorpius Malfoy may have been the best thing that's ever happened to me. Well, so far this year! (I do know it has barely begun, but still!)

Love, your son,

Albus Severus Potter

'Al'
