FRIENDSHIP ONE SHOT. Caroline and Bonnie finally get their friendship back.
Bonnie finds herself staring at Caroline one day in History Class.
She isn't paying any attention to what Alaric is saying. Her blonde curls fall in front of her face as she scribbles furiously across her notebook. Anyone who knows Caroline knows that she isn't actually taking notes. No, she is probably doodling a Matt+ Caroline= love all over her notebook.
Bonnie smiles because that sounds like the Caroline she knew before-
Before she turned into a vampire.
It's quite sad actually; Bonnie and Caroline were the best of friends at one time. Bonnie actually leaned on Caroline, who seemed to be the only person she knew that wasn't waist deep in the Supernatural. Caroline babbled about Matt, setting Bonnie up with that hottie that sat next to her in science class, and they watched the breakfast club until 2:00 AM.
Then Bonnie told Damon to give her the blood, and now Caroline has turned from a boy –crazy, optimistic Cheerleader into a soulless, bloodsucking killer. She really isnt any better than the rest of them.
But now Bonnie looks at Caroline and she really wonders if that's true, because honestly she misses Caroline more than she thought she should miss a vampire.
The bell rings and everyone files out the door. Bonnie follows behind Caroline towards her locker, forgetting that with Supernatural hearing she could probably hear Bonnie's heart beating rapidly in her chest, and probably even smell her.
Caroline spins around with a mix of confusion and joy playing across her face when she sees her.
"Bonnie."
"Hey." Bonnie offers her a weak smile.
"Is everything alright?" Caroline asks furrowing her brows and intertwining her fingers together nervously.
Bonnie takes longer than necessary to answer, simply because the mannerisms of this Caroline were exactly the same as those of her best friend. "Yeah, um…everything is fine."
"Oh." Caroline's eyes dance over Bonnie's features trying to memorize them because she simply may never talk to Bonnie civilly again the way things are going.
Bonnie sensing the awkwardness approaching the conversation decides to have a serious case of word vomit and says the first thing that comes to her mind, "So- how's Matt?"
"We're not together anymore, because I just don't know how to be with him and still be a-" She stops mid-sentence and looks at Bonnie nervously wondering if that was really the best thing to say around Bonnie.
Bonnie smiles a bit, "What, a vampire?"
Caroline spreads her 20-watt smile across her face, "Could you say it any louder I'm pretty sure the people in China couldn't hear you."
They both giggle and Bonnie looks over at her, "D you want to come over tonight, my dad's away on a business trip in North Carolina."
Caroline's smile gets even brighter if that's even possible and she plays with her necklace nervously. "Sounds fun."
