A/N
This came to me after talking to MoonlightForgotten, and despite being one in the morning, I needed to write it.
In this short little thing, it's a cold Autumn night in Newt's house and seeing that his wizard is a little cold, a certain thunderbird decides to cuddle him, to keep him warm since birds stay warm during colder months, so I hope you enjoy.
It was Autumn in England, and despite being up late, Newt was feeling cold but was working on his book, plus most of the beasts were calm in the suitcase so he could write without distractions, plus wearing his scarf indoors ignoring the battering winds outside, plus with a warm mug of tea, he thought that might help because he wanted to finish his book and hand it into the Minstry of Magic, so that the Wizarding communities around the world could learn about the magical creatures that he found, nurtured and protected from harm.
But while working on his manuscripts, Newt was unaware, that a certain orange feathered thunderbird had gotten out of the suitcase, because he wanted to see, what Newt was doing this late, plus saw that his wizard was a bit cold, thinking an ice dragon had made Newt's house cold, which made him concerned, because he cared about Newt, just like all the other beasts did.
We can't let him get cold, he'll freeze, or catch something, but he's so determined on finishing his book, maybe there is something I can do, to keep him warm.
Birds had high body temperatures which kept them warm during the colder months like Winter, compared to wizards, witches and Muggles who got cold easily, knowing he could use his soft feathers to keep Newt warm, even if he insisted on finishing his book, wrapping one of his wings around Newt gently, like a blanket surprising Newt, guessing Frank sensed he was cold, appreciating this.
"Hmm,yes birds do stay warm during the winter, so you're trying to make sure I don't freeze?" Newt said sneezing, which alerted the male thunderbird, knowing he needed to be in bed under warm bedcovers, grabbing the quill from Newt, holding it it in one of his claws despite ink getting onto the floor.
"Come on boy, give me my quill back-" Newt said sneezing guessing that was why Frank had swiped his quill, not because he wanted to write with it or make a mess on the floor, guessing it was pretty late, and getting quite cold.
"Alright, I'm going, you made your point boy, without making a mess." Newt said seeing a claw print in ink on the floor, preserving it for after they took a trip to Arizona like he'd been planning, seeing the male thunderbird curious, seeing his wizard put the piece of paper into a memory box.
"Goodnight boy, but thanks for helping you know?" Newt said going upstairs, knowing that Frank was just concerned about his well being, so hoped that he was alright, probably sleeping on the couch, which was like a second nest despite having one in the suitcase which amused him.
