For Addison, this was somewhat familiar territory. She spent the greater portion of her childhood hiding in a bedroom with her older brother, Archer, not wanting to witness the everyday battles of a crumbling marriage.
Though it may be familiar, not even that was enough to actually prepare her for the situation at hand.
Nobody goes into a marriage thinking it's going to end, and perhaps if she would've paid closer attention years back, she would've had a better idea of what was to come.

The wind pushes your hair into your face, awaking you from your daydreams and it's not until then that you remember all the times you rode this very ferryboat with Derek. Your heart twists into a knot when you realize it'll never happen again, and you turn your attention back to the water.
It wasn't until the last few weeks (or in other words- since you left the woods for actual civilization) that you realized how nice Seattle truly was. Especially at night, (you manage to sneak out to your balcony post mind blowing sex with Mark) which you know is wrong, but really don't give a because Mark always knows how to make you feel better, which is something Derek never bothered to learn.
You know this is the end and you almost laugh a little because instead of a rush of emotions, or depression, you feel absolutely nothing.
You feel empty.
You take one last look at the rings currently hugging your fingers and slowly pull them off.
Taking in a deep breath, you close your eyes and throw them into the water.
Letting out the breath, you turn around and begin to walk the other way.
You feel empty.
Reviews are love.
