"Crush"
The guild was as loud and lively as ever, though Juvia easily tuned out the noise and chaos. She was sitting by Gajeel, who was watching Natsu and Gray duke it out for gods know how many times, munching on a piece of iron. She didn't mind the silence. It gave her time to think, and wow, did she have a lot to think about.
Her navy blue eyes kept lingering on Lucy, much to her annoyance. She didn't want anyone to discover her little crush. How or when her feelings for Gray died out and shifted to one Lucy Heartfillia, she wasn't entirely sure. What she did know was that it was now Lucy who made her heart race, spine tingle, and everything in between.
And how could she not crush on her? She was kindhearted, sweet, loyal, and just pleasant to be around. Not to mention pretty. Like, really pretty. Like, drop dead gorgeous and was sure to make her heart stop from looking at her. She could feel her cheeks heat up in a rosy blush as her thoughts began shifting to more, steamy things, and she quickly calmed herself down so as not to draw Gajeel's attention. Although, it was a little bit too late for that, for the Iron Dragon Slayer was looking at her, his gaze knowing.
"Thinking about Blondie again, huh?" Before Juvia could deny anything, Gajeel continued talking before she even had the chance to open her mouth. "Don't even try to deny it, Juv. You get all mushy and heart-eyed whenever she steps in guild, staring at her like some lovesick puppy. Why don't you just tell her how you feel?"
"Because, Gajeel, she might not even like me like that. And Juvia knows Gajeel isn't talking! Gajeel is so in love with Levy, it's ridiculous, especially since she feels the same way about Gajeel, but he won't do anything about his feelings, so don't come for Juvia!" Juvia exclaimed lowly, smirking as Gajeel blushed and began denying that he felt anything for Levy, which was a total lie, by the way.
They continued arguing back and forth until the sound of someone coughing had them lapsing into silence. Juvia's eyes nearly fell out of her sockets when she saw the object of her affections standing beside her, looking so effortlessly gorgeous it should be illegal.
"Hey Juvia, Gajeel." The sound of her voice was like music to Juvia's ears, and she couldn't help but swoon inwardly.
"Hi, Lucy. Can Juvia help you?" she asked, silently cheering at the fact that her voice was surprisingly steady despite the fact that she was a mess of nervous.
"Yeah. I was wondering if you wanted to go on a mission with me?" Her voice sounded hopeful, as if she wanted Juvia to come with her. Ah, but Juvia's imagination must be getting the best of her. Again. Still, she'd be freaking insane to turn down the opportunity to spend some quality time with her crush.
"Juvia would love to come with you, Lucy," she said cheerfully, discreetly punching a snickering Gajeel. Lucy smiled, and it was such a jovial, bright smile, the kind that chased away the cloudy days and gloominess, leaving behind nothing but warmth and happiness.
"Awesome! Thanks, Juvia!" And Lucy pulls her into a hug that threatens to steal her very breath away. She hugs her back, relishing in her warmth and sweet scent. They pull away, but Lucy holds her hand, and flashes her a smile that melts her heart with no problem at all. Who knows? Maybe her crush wasn't as one-sided as she thought.
