As Daphne helped transform Sabrina into a beautifully stunning bride on her wedding day, she was overcome with joy that Sabrina would finally be with the man she truly loved since the age of 12. Sabrina and Puck would journey off into the sunset with Puck as the King of Faerie and Sabrina as a successful Everafter defense attorney. When she saw Sabrina after she finished the look, she was awestruck. Long gone was the tomboy who wouldn't wear a dress to save her life, for at least today, she was a princess. Suddenly, Pachelbel's Canon sounded in the room and Daphne nudged her sister towards the aisle as their dad took Sabrina's arm.
All the other close friends and family, Everafters and humans alike, stared at the blushing bride and reveled in her beauty. Though, Daphne saw that Sabrina's beauty on that day didn't come from the makeup that highlighted her snowy white skin, the waves of golden blonde hair that seemed to shimmer as it flowed down her back, or the dress fairy godmothers and fairies sculpted themselves that seemed to hug Sabrina's body perfectly. She saw that Sabrina's true radiance came from her elation at marrying her one and only Puck. When Daphne saw that love in Sabrina's eyes that made her shine, it almost made her chest ache. For a fleeting, superficial moment, she thought that she would never be as pretty as Sabrina, but Daphne realized it was something much more.
She realized this was the last of just Sabrina and Daphne, together forever, against the world as fairytale detectives, and more importantly sisters. Maybe she was being a bit melodramatic, but Daphne knew that Sabrina had other commitments to Puck, Faerie, and other things in a world that Daphne could not always be a part of. Well, she would see her sister from time to time, though now she had her own life with Puck, things would change. They would eventually grow a family, and she would get left and possibly become that weird Aunt Daphne that no one wants to talk to. As Puck and Sabrina spoke their vows with love in their eyes, Daphne knew that she longed for a connection with someone like the one between Puck and Sabrina. Okay, maybe not exactly like that since she didn't want to spend years of bickering with someone while denying feelings for one another, but she wanted something.
When the pair finally said "I do," Daphne leaped up and cheered with everyone else and flashed a brilliant smile to mask the more melancholy thoughts in her head. While she was sitting at her table at the reception watching the other couples dance, she spotted a familiar face from across the room. The dark curly black hair and the piercing blue filled with a curiosity to learn were recognizable from anywhere. Time had been kind to her old friend since he was even more dashing since she saw him at Sabrina's wedding with Bradley. The man gazed upon her, and started to slowly glide towards Daphne.
"Would you like to dance? It's a long time since I have seen your smiling face."
Daphne's mouth formed that dazzling genuine smile as she replied, "I would love to, Pinocchio."
