Early morning
Sasuke had always been at the bridge earlier than his other two teammates. It seemed like he slept much less than them. He knew that it might have something to to with his cold, lonely house. And what had occured there. But no matter what he did he couldn't seem to get more than a few hours of sleep each night.
The rest of the time he lay silently in his bed while he waited for the sun to rise. After that he would go to meeting place as fast as possible, not wanting to stay in his empty house any longer than necessary. And therefore he was at the bridge early each day.
But he hadn't expected Naruto to get there earlier than him. The dobe rarely woke up early, instead prefering to sleep as much as possible. It was a little unnerving to see him there before him, but somehow the blond had a calming effect on Sasuke. Just the sight of Naruto was relaxing.
Naruto was lying under a tree in what looked like a deep slumber. Sasuke could hear his soft snores and the look on his face was peaceful. Not the normal idiot one, but a look of wisdom and maturity, something he only had in his sleep.
Sasuke went to stand over the dobe before he sighed heavily and sat down with his back to the tree beside the dobe. He observed the blond as Naruto woke up with a start when he felt someone near him. At the sight of Sasuke though, he uttered a single word, and relaxed again before he went back to sleep.
"Teme."
Sasuke smirked, while fighting back the grin who struggled to get on his face. A little happiness didn't change the fact that he was an Uchiha. He still had the Uchiha pride. He laid down slowly beside the dobe and cast a single glance at his rival's face before he closed his eyes and let the sun warm him up, knowing that, now that he wasn't alone anymore, he would finally be able to get some decent sleep.
A/N: Just came to me one day. I like their relationship, even though I hate the older Sasuke(Shippudden).
