Track A
Zaklen took his eyes of the scroll, watching the two blackbirds flutter through his home. The old elf rose, then sat back down to review the scroll. "So many times" he sighed, "Too many times I protected this scroll, hid this scroll, so no one could know the writing that it bears". He ran his hand through his moonlight hair, "Now why, why do I think of doing the thing I've been preventing!" Then, he knew. He remembered the torture; the torture Salgasky had inflicted upon the people of Alagasia, the elves, the humans, and the dwarves alike. He slowly rose and walked out of the hut, leaving the scroll behind. He sensed it; Salgasky was nearby, no doubt to capture or extinct the elves from this kingdom. The shouts and screams of the elves where heard from all around as they ran around, franticly preparing for battle. Zaklen knew it was for nothing. No one would come but Salgasky. He walked his path, taking no attention to his surroundings. He had a purpose, nothing else mattered. He entered a part of Du Weldenvarden where no one could see him. He knew every part of the forest, and he knew where he was going. He finally entered a clearing, where he stopped at the edge of a lake, the fresh afternoon sunlight shining down on the crystal clear water. "Come out" Zaklen bellowed "I know you are there!" "Will you fight me or are you the coward your elders though of you!" The lake surface rippled, then exploding as a pure black dragon rose from the surface. The mighty dragon slammed into the shore, sending a ripple through the earth. "I AM NO COWARD!" Salgasky screamed, his voice magnified by magic, "YOU WANT A FIGHT?! I WILL GIVE YOU ONE YOU'LL REMEMBER!" "IF YOU LIVE, THAT IS." he chuckled. His dragon then rose into the air, then streaking down, making a bullet for Zaklen. Zaklen stood there, his eyes not even following the direction of the dragon, still looking at the shoreline. The dragon was upon him, his talons outstretched to pierce him when Zaklen looked up, pointed at the dragon and screamed "ZENDURA!"
Track B
Nari took his eyes of the scroll, sitting on a cliff, he watching two vultures land on a half-eaten carcass. He re-read the scroll again, the ancient runes no problem for his trained eyes. He had read the scroll for the sixteenth time that day, shocked at his discovery. He started his seventeenth time when a young face poke out of the window and shout "Nari, will you stop reading for two seconds and come in here! Oromis is making an awesome spell!" Nari fumbled for words, finally coming out with, "yah, yah, be there in a… moment Brom… uh… you wait there" Brom's cheerful face turned to one of worry. "You okay Nari, you seem… scared of something!" Nari shook his head quickly "No! Not at all! Scared? Not me!, I'm not scared, not one bit!" Brom raised an eyebrow "really, I'll be the judge of that" his head disappeared behind the window frame. Nari resumed his reading until he sensed someone behind him. Nari turned around, seeing Morzan study him. Nari hid the scroll from view. "What do you want" he asked as a shiver racked his body. Morzan said nothing, then chuckled. He liked the effect he had on people. Morzan turned his heels and walked away. When he was gone, Nari breathed a sigh of relief, hoping with all his heart that his thought didn't come true. The thought of Morzan, a dream actually. A dream of Morzan, a dream of destruction, a dream of massacre and torture. It was a horrible dream he had that night, but a dream the same. He hoped it wouldn't come true. His eyes scanned the scroll again, forgetting his worries. What contained the scroll, he knew, could never, ever, get into Moran's hands.
