Love is blind. Well, that's what people tell you when you fall for another, don't they? But Hermione knew, love wasn't blind, love made her blind. She didn't mind though. It made you blind to everything apart from the one you love and she adored that. Seeing nothing in the day but Ron, she didn't mind at all.

Hermione hurried down the dim hallway, flashing bright smiles at her colleagues as she neared her large office. The dark door appeared in the hallway with a new shiny gold sign stating her name: Mrs Hermione Weasley. She beamed to herself as she saw the new placard and opened the heavy door that directed her to her assistant's office.
"Good Morning Mandy, did Mr Potter drop by and give you the paper on the summary of the last raid?" She asked, picking up the pile of letters that was threatening to topple over at any point. Hermione glanced at her assistant once she realised that the young girl had not answered. The girl was undoubtedly pretty, there was no denying that. She had long blonde hair and sharp blue eyes and Ron seemed to like spending time with her. That was mostly why she chose the girl to do this job, Ron had recommended her, saying she was a close friend of his and she was unemployed. To be honest she was doing a piss poor job and she felt it was too horrible to fire a close friend of Ron's, so she had let Mandy stay on.

"He came round earlier, saying that you were wanted in the board room on level 7." She sighed, taking a break from reading when she noticed Hermione was expecting a response. Hermione peeked over her assistant's shoulder to see the familiar pile of scented love letters Mandy received every day.

"Level 7, are you sure?" Hermione questioned. She nibbled on her lip and made a disgusted face when some of her red lipstick that Ron had bought her found its way into her mouth.

"Yes." Mandy replied, her hair falling like a curtain to hide her distasteful expression.

"Really? Because it could be like the time before when you told me that I had a meeting on level 4 and I missed lunch with Ron. Or the time before when I missed an important dinner meeting because when I asked you, you told me I had no appointments." Hermione muttered, placing her jacket on the floating coat stand in the corner.

"I'm sure, he even sent an owl to remind me to tell you." She murmured holding up and opened letter with Harry's familiar scrawl on it, still looking down at the love letter on the dark, oak desk. Hermione grabbed it out of her hand and bid her a sharp goodbye before slamming the door as she left.

Hermione,

Sorry for the short notice, had I have known earlier I would have asked before. There's a meeting on Level 7 boardroom 6241 and one of the Aurors from our depart can't come. You'd being doing me a huge favour if you could fill in.

Harry.

Hermione walked briskly down the hall, refusing to run, she would not be seen running to a meeting in public, she had a reputation for Merlin's sake. She reached the lift and stepped in, clasping a hand round a bar on the ceiling so she wouldn't fall.

"Level 7" She stated. She had finally convinced the Ministry's management that it was impractical to have to press buttons all the time, especially while carrying her work around. It wasn't hard really, she just told the head that she would take his son to have a private meet and greet with the Chudley Cannons. The lift jerked suddenly and soon after announced its arrival to level 7, more commonly known as the Minister of Magic's office.

"'Mione." She saw Harry stride towards her, a relieved look occupied his face. "I'm so glad you're here, Lavender told me just this morning that she was pregnant and would be taking leave and I was desperate to find a replacement, I wouldn't have called on you otherwise." He rambled, as he led her towards a large glass door that took up most of the wall.

"It's fine Harry but you do owe me, big time." She reassured, patting his arm.

"Thank you, Thank you!" He exclaimed, kissing her on the cheek twice then pushing her not so gently into the board room.

"Ah, Mrs Weasley. How nice of you to join us. Mr Potter told me you were filling in for Lavender Brown so I assume you know nothing of the project?" The Minister asked as soon as she stepped into the room. The Minister was a young man, replacing Rufus Scrimgeour who was voted out of power shortly after the Great War. She was rather happy about the change in power, Mr Scrimgeour was simply expecting too much of the brightest witch of her age and often gave her taxing tasks he was just too lazy to complete. However, the new Minister was hardly any better and his short deadlines for the work he was giving cut away at the time she had previously reserved for her new husband. Ron didn't mind though, he said he understood and he knew how important her work was to her.

"Har- Mr Potter has not disclosed this information to me." She declared, conjuring a chair from her office and sitting down on it, making sure to smooth her sensible knee-high skirt down so it wouldn't get creased. She glanced around at the grand board room, she had never been in here. It was reserved for only the most important meetings that the Minister held.

"Well Miss Chang could you explain the task to Mrs Weasley." He nodded towards Cho who was perched in the corner of the boardroom, furiously scribbling down notes, which made Hermione feel the need to write what the Minister was saying down. She was the Know-it-all for Godric's sake. Cho peered up from her notes, she looked ill and tired. The poor girl, rumour has it that she caught Michael Corner cheating on her and they had a loud and rather argument in the Ministry's atrium. Cho stood up, her hair falling in front of her eyes as she hid her blushing cheeks once she had noticed the concerned look in everyone's eyes.

"As you know, after the defeat of V-Voldemort, many of the death eaters fled from the country. In the two years since our victory they have been attacking large groups of muggles, witches and wizards. A month ago there was an attack on Paris- kept secret by the Ministry of course- killing 51 muggles and 37 witches and wizards. The dark mark was left in the air and the witness gave us a list of names that they believe attacked them. Our job is to find the remaining death eaters and bring them to Azkaban." Cho sat quickly, squirming in the silence that followed.

"And how do you propose we do that?" She challenged, glaring at the short Minister standing at the head of the table. She transformed a heavy paperweight into a quill as the Minister began speaking.

"You'll be given a name, then, it is up to you how you do it. You can break laws for all I care, just get them here before another attack happens." He groaned, conjuring a soft black hat and passing it around. Each person reached into the hat, their arm disappearing inside and pulling out a piece of scrunched up parchment. The hat reached her and she retrieved the small scrap of parchment and unfolded it.

Blaise Zabini, last seen in wizarding New York.

She let out a small gasp of breath and smiled softly. She could do this, it was just Zabini, and he had never personally hurt her. Yet she knew that would play as a disadvantage for she had never considered him as completely evil. Her head quickly snapped to her side as a loud cry sounded from the figure next to her. Marietta Edgecombe. Hermione grinned slightly when she noticed a few pimples that resembled the letter S.

"What is it Miss Edgecombe?" The Minister grumbled, snatching the parchment from her hands and read it, his lips moving slightly as he read the name. "Ah, yes. I think it is appropriate to swap with someone else, considering your... history with the boy. Mrs Weasley is perfectly capable handling him." The minister passed the parchment to Hermione, taking Zabini's name and passing it to Marietta. Hermione closed her fingers round the scratchy paper and let in a deep breath, preparing her for the worse.

Draco Malfoy, last seen in wizarding Paris.

"Ron... Ron!" Hermione pushed through the door into her small flat, clambering over brooms, books and discarded clothes. She toed of her flats and stumbled to the kitchen, trying to avoid the junk that blocked her way. She found Ron in the kitchen, his ginger hair just showing over the top of 'The Daily Prophet'.

"Ron, I thought I asked you to clean up a little before I left." She huffed, pulling the red ribbon out of her hair. Her hair fell to her shoulders like a harsh waterfall and as she ran her hair through it, left an attractive just-got-out-of-bed look. Ron put down the paper and sent her an adoring smile.

"I know, I know, I got pulled away for a last minute practice." he explained, pulling me into his lap and placing a slopping kiss on my lips. She exhaled shakily and looked around the cluttered flat, her eyes landing on a laughing picture of her, Harry and Ron. They all looked so happy, they still were so happy, or at least that's what she told herself. Things had been harder once she and Ron had got married. The demand for constant appearances from the public was growing and she just didn't have time. She gazed back up at Ron to see him tenderly grinning at her. Merlin, she would miss him so much. The way he told her every day that she was beautiful, the not-so-subtle looks and the mind-numbing kisses. She had to go though, she just hoped that she would be fine without him for a while. She'd done it before but now she was so dependent on Ron that even a day at work would leave her missing him.

"I have something to tell you." Hermione confessed, her eyes daring to his face to gauge his reaction. He stared sown at her expectantly, his arms linked behind her so their chests were pushed together just so that they could feel each other's heart beating. "The ministry asked me to take a trip to Rome."

"How long will you be gone?" he whispered, tugging her closer to him as if she would apparate away from him at any moment.

"I don't know, a month maybe." She breathed, hiding her face in his toned chest.

"I'm going to miss you." He hummed into her hair.

"I know, so will I."

The married couple stood hugging by the fireplace. Ron's face buried on her silky curls and his strong arms wrapped around her waist.

"Are you sure you have to go? Couldn't someone else replace you instead?" Ron moaned, letting go of her to tug her suitcase to the fireplace. Hermione laughed sadly at him and kissed him on the cheek. Oh how she would miss him, but she knew she had a job to do and it was important. She had to do this, to make the world a safer place for her family.

"I'll be back soon, it's just a month." She promised, stroking his cheek.

"I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." she whispered, stepping in to the fire with her luggage. "Rome." She uttered, letting the powder fall to her feet.

Author's Note: I'm so very sorry about the poor writing skills and the lack of words and the overall shortness of the chapter. As I said earlier I'm writing to learn so hopefully it'll get better. Also I promise I will make the following chapters longer so I guess that'll mean a new chapter won't be up for a few weeks (but I promise I'm working on it now). I'm also looking for a Beta so if you're interested...

Also it would mean a lot to me if you favourited and reviewed.

Thank you, until next time.
