Lillian didn't get what was wrong – was she ugly? Was she fat or something? She had been dating Kana for a while now and just when it seemed he was going to talk about something other than horses, he goes and rambles on about horses again. Now Lillian didn't have a problem with Kana's obsession with horses – it was a part of him and Lillian understood. But on that date…

Flashback about an hour before

Lillian and Kana were on the bridge, on a date.

"Wow… your eyes are beautiful… that's what I said to a horse in this dream I had." Kana said, blushing.

Lillian was quiet for a bit, the almost compliment processing in her head. "Kana…"

"Yeah?" the horse lover looked at her.

"Do you think I'm pretty?"

"Yeah, but this one horse was SO amazing… Lillian?" but she was gone.

End flashback

Kana was at Hiro's place, since he didn't know who else to go to. "Hiro, dude, I think I messed up with Lillian." Kana put his head in his hands.

"Do tell." Hiro sat down across from him, an interested look on his face.

Kana sighed and told him the story, Hiro stayed silent, letting his friend tell his story. "And that's what happened."

"Kana you dimwit! I cannot believe you said that!" Hiro face-palmed.

"What did I do?" Kana was utterly confused.

"You complimented a horse on a date. You know, women are very sensitive about their appearance." Hiro scolded his friend.

"Wait… OH! I get it… shoot! I was just so nervous and it just spilled out!" Kana felt terrible. He was about to comment about how he thought Lillian was pretty, but he got nervous and talked about a horse instead.

"Why were you nervous? Are you and Lillian not dating?" Hiro inquired.

"We are, but I don't know if we will be for long…"

"That doesn't answer my question."

Kana reached into his jacket and pulled out a beautiful blue feather. "I'm usually so mellow when I'm with her, but then…"

"You were going to propose?" Hiro asked incredulously.

"Yeah, man, I'm in love. And it's not the same kind of love I have for horses." Kana said seriously.

"I think you should go and sort things out with Lillian." Hiro suggested.

"Yeah. Thanks for the advice."

Kana walked to Lillian's farm slowly, thinking about what he was going to say. He became surer with every step and soon he was sprinting to her house.

Lillian heard someone knocking on her door. She wiped her eyes carefully and opened the door. It was Kana.

Kana saw that Lillian had been crying a little bit. "Aw geez, I didn't mean to make you cry…" Kana didn't wait to be invited in.

"Kana, I'm sorry, I overreacted back there." Lillian said quickly.

"No, I'm sorry. It's just that I got nervous back there. I do think your pretty. You're the most beautiful girl in the world." Kana watched his words, trying not to use the word 'hot'.

"But you've never been nervous before…"

Kana pulled out the feather. "Lillian, will you marry me?"

Lillian's eyes widened, and she looked from the feather to Kana and back again. "Of course I'll marry you!" she took the feather gingerly and put it on her nightstand.

"Sweet! I mean, good!" Kana wrapped his fiancé into a tight embrace. He had a feeling they would have a good life together.
