The Heart Of A Sea Lord

A/N: When I saw the movie for the very first time, my immediate reaction to the Davy-Tia-Lost-Love storyline was that Davy's Love died and Davy gave Tia the locket as payment for removing his heart. This little one-shot is my dedication to that thought.

Please enjoy! And review. ;)

This adds on to the scene where Captain Jack is telling Davy about Will being in love.

"And he's in love…"

Any other words were lost to the Captain's ears and he barely noticed Sparrow's movements, his mind was miles away, flying through memories…flying back to her, his own lost love.

A laugh like a melody, sparkling eyes alight with joy locked with his own and long,

wavy hair cascading down a delicate face…all lost to him.

She was determined, so tough. So much like the sea he loved, and so he loved her.

Tears well up in Davy's eyes as the memories come back, visions he thought he had locked away with his heart. A woman once so lively and fair now lying motionless in his arms. Once bright eyes now dull and a weak voice gasping for breath, a voice that was once so strong and full of life. Whispered words of love and then an agonising, deathly silence, an unending torturous pain and a scream of despair torn from his lips.

The deal with the priestess, a knife dug into his chest and then, an end to his agony. An end to these memories… or so he had thought.

These past visions had once wrenched his heart…but now they caused him nothing but weakness. Davy had once mourned, now he simply forgot…or so he told himself, even though he knew it was a lie…

A moment's respite, a moment's pain, a moment's love…but then Davy Jones, terror of the seas pushes the images back, once more locking them in his chest.

"I keep the boy…" Even as he speaks, Jones returns to his persona as Master of the Kraken, Ruler of the Oceans.

The master without a heart cannot love.

But Davy Jones still does.
