Those Green Eyes

After fleeing Hogwarts in disgrace he had nowhere to go... Except one muggle house.

Snape's POV

Nobody knew I was an Animagus too. While Black, Potter and Pettigrew had been practising, I had been watching. Seeing their techniques, looking to see how they were doing what they were doing, and trying it myself. Eventually I mastered it. I chose the form of a crow- discreet, agile and easily hidden- and used my many evenings alone to spy on them. This was after my discovery of Lupin being a werewolf, and I was keen to make sure they weren't up to trouble on those full-mooned nights. And if there was, I would report it and make sure they were punished. After my stint at Hogwarts was the time where this came to be most useful. I had been disgraced by Minerva banishing me as easily as she had, and now The Dark Lord was seeking me, I needed a place to hide.
I knew the Dursleys had moved back in to 4 Privet Drive as soon as Voldemort had been defeated; they would never have stayed in an unusual house with wizards, they were far too pompous for that.
I had already tried Godric's Hollow, but the memories were too painful. My parents' house was long demolished and any other place I could think of was derelict or destroyed... Except this place. I perched on top of the fence in the garden between number 4 and number 6, right outside number 4's window so that I could see inside. I had already surveyed the garden, making sure there was adequate space for me to live, as a crow, undetected, and so had decided to spy on the muggles residing in the house now that Potter wasn't there. From here I had a good view of the open plan kitchen and lounge, with the kitchen closest to me- I was just above the sink. For a few minutes there was only sight of a rather large boy watching a strange box with moving pictures that seemed to fascinate him, but just as I was about to fly to the hedge I would now call home, a woman entered the room.
She was tall, slightly too thin, with hair cut into a bob just below her chin. She was wearing an alarming shade of coral pink and as she came in she ruffled the boy's hair and went into the kitchen. She flicked a switch on a black plastic and metal object containing water that immediately began to bubble and steam and while she waited for the contraption to finish its job she washed her hands in the sink I was perched over. She looked up as she dried her hands and I gasped. Two bright green orbs were looking at me, two gleaming spots in the darkness of my life. I had a sudden flashback to the 31st of October, cradling my lost love in my arms as a baby cried behind me. The same green eyes had looked at me then, only blankly. The woman in the window frowned at the sight of me and rapped her knuckles on the window, a clear sign for me to take flight. But I couldn't move. I was rooted to the spot, thinking about those green eyes. She tutted, still frowning, and shut the curtain.
I want to make that frown disappear...
I thought absently, and then I came to my senses. I shook my head and flew away to my hedge, wondering what on earth I was about to do.

AN: Sorry it was so short! Just a teaser of what could happen, I already have a whole plot that I could continue with but let me know if I should or not in the reviews. Thanks!
