Glancing at the clock, watching it flash the time, waiting for him to walk in. 3:15am. She finally heard the front door creek open. He was trying to be quiet, so he wouldn't wake her up. Rolling over, she waited for him to walk in the bedroom. She was mad. No, she was more than mad, she was pissed. Wondering what excuse he'd have this time, she heard the door open slowly.

He peaked in, seeing if she was awake or not. Tip-toeing into the room, closing the door quietly. He turned and walked toward the bed.

"Where were you?" She watched him jump a little. Startled hearing her voice.

"Oh, hey baby. I thought you were asleep."

"Don't 'hey baby' me Seth. Where were you?"

"I just went out with some of the guys. We hit the bar for some drinks after training. I should have texted you, or called, I'm sorry."

She didn't say another word, just rolled over and faced the window. Slowly drifting off to sleep. Seth climbed into the bed, and rested his hand on her hip. He wanted to pull her close, but knew she was mad at him.

The next morning, she was up early like always. Taking full advantage of him sleeping late, she went for a nice long run. Using the time to get her thoughts straight, and clear her head a bit. She loved Seth, but she couldn't keep this up anymore. All the excuses, the lies. It was all a game to him, she could see that now. This time though, it was him who was going to lose, not her.

Back at her apartment, she walked in and found him in the kitchen. Now was her chance, and she wasn't going to blow it.

"Seth. We need to talk."

"Sure babe, what's up?" He smiled at her.

"Seth, I can't keep this game up."

"What do you mean? What game?" Searching her face for answers, his expression turning to worry.

"All these stupid excuses Seth. Do you think I'm stupid or something? Like I don't know what's really going on?"

"What are you talking about? Is this about last night?"

"It's everything Seth. You're out til 3 or 4 am, and tell me you were out with friends. You get calls from random numbers, and try to say it was a wrong number? But I see the way you smirk just a little when you see it. You have an answer for everything, a new excuse everyday. I'm not blind, I see right through all your shit."

He hangs his head, not able to look her in the eye anymore.

"You lied to me, Seth. And you know, I wish so badly that I could hate you, but I can't. I just can't. But I can walk away."

Without another word, she turned and walked back out of the apartment. Leaving him standing there in the kitchen. She ran again, but this time with a place in mind to go. She ran to the one person she knew she could count on right now.

Knocking on the door, a few tears left in her eyes, she waited, taking the chance to catch her breath.

"Morrigan? What are you..." His voice trailed off as she looked up at him. "Morrigan, what happened?" He put his around her, bringing her into his house. She couldn't say anything at first, just buried her head in his chest. Pulling her close, letting her take her time and cry as much as she needed, he kissed the top of her head.

"Finn?" She pulled away a little & looked up at him.

"Yes a stór?"

"It never stops hurting, does it?"

"What never stops hurting?"

"Giving someone the best of you. Everything you have. And watching them choose someone else."

"Love, it will get better. I promise you." With that, he held her close again.

She felt herself relax in his arms. She loved Seth, but she knew with Finn's help, she'd get through. Something about being with her best friend, made her feel safe and protected.
