Prompts: 'Wish' and 'Garden'

A/N: More Maglor. Are you surprised? You shouldn't be. My mental obsession may be Maedhros, but I write Maglor WAY more. The thing you should be surprised about is the fact that this isn't under angst.

Here, the terror of the war can be forgotten. The scent of the flowers drown out the horrible thoughts of battle and loss. Here, one can pretend that none of this is happening, that we're back in Valinor, and Adar isn't dead, our families aren't divided and that Maitimo isn't gone - captured - and I am not in this heavily unwanted position of High King of the Noldor. I am not deserving of such a high title, it should be Finwë who still holds the crown. But he is dead and Father with him, Maitimo taken beyond our reach. Findekáno is so much braver than all of us for he has gone into the belly of the beast to free someone who he undoubtably believes betrayed him. He cannot know that Russandol refused to burn the boats and stood aside. Fingolfin brought the news of Fingon's disappearance and reluctantly promised to inform us within the hour of his return. Though I did not ask for such a promise and he gave it willingly.

I hear hoofbeats pounding on the cobblestone and rise to my feet, readying myself to leave the garden. Before I do so however, I send a prayer - a wish - to Eru, hoping to my deepest soul that he will answer it.

"Fingolfin is here. Please, Allfather, Please let him carry news of Maitimo..."

A/N: My friends and I got a crack out of the Allfather bit. We've recently gotten into Norse mythology and we were hyper and that tipped - at least - me off the edge and I was having inner giggles for hours. Oh, ps, for me it wasn't Thor or The Avengers though I love those movies. I was reading books about Norse mythology before I saw either of those movies, before I even knew Thor existed and The Avengers had anything to do with Thor and Loki.

While I'm ranting, did anyone else fangirl when Sleipnir shows up on screen in Thor for two seconds? I did. I also fangirl'd when Thor and Loki and Sleipnir were all correct for my all-too-picky-when-it-comes-to-spelling iPod. I need a life. And I will also shut up. *waves* Ciao.
